    Hi all!

I was wondering if there are any favorite ADV "ride report"-type movies/documentaries/DVDs etc that are good to watch. I love reading ride reports on here, and the accompanying YouTube vids are always a great watch, but sometimes it's nice to just pop a DVD in the player and watch a half hour to an hour of good old-fashioned TV while doing other stuff like folding laundry, paying bills, etc.

If there's anything on streaming services (I subscribe to the one with the red logo that does DVDs by mail also and rhymes with "metrics"), that would be even better.

I just don't know any titles of ADV type productions; curious what other people have watched and enjoyed in the past, especially with winter weather coming soon.

    Thanks,

    Russ

You've probably already seen them but I like the Long Way Down and Long Way Round by McGregor and Boorman. Fun to watch and learn from. Netflix has both as you can see by the links.

White Horse Gear has a huge motorcycle focused DVD selection. You might get some ideas from their catalog. And, of course, there's Touratech's great selection.

Curbsyde is slowly making their own DVD's

Of course you can always rewatch On Any Sunday again (and again, and again...)

Would you call Time Rider an adventure riding movie?

Started watching Cycles South last night with my wife. I was a bit surprised how well she liked it -- I've been talking about doing some ADV riding but I don't think she had an idea what I was talking about before.

Seems those guys took more than one kind of " trip" when they got to Taos. :bubba

Going to have to get the Long Way series next. Good stuff!

I very much enjoy the Globeriders DVD's... Mr Pedersen's attitude, and the length and preparations behind their journey's is something I really envy. I hope to take one of their 2 mo. long trips one day,... they're not cheap, so may be just a dream, but their videos put me "there"... in a very agreeable way.. to me. My favs so far. (as are his how to maintain vids (uhm, no JimVB disrespect intended!... Jim, I have yours too and equally love them too.. ;-)

Not really an offroad adv movie but I really enjoyed "one week" (released in 2008). Its about a guy that finds out that he has terminal cancer, buys an old norton and rides across canada to the pacific coast.

    "the motorcycle diaries"

Havent actually watched it yet. It was in the $5 bin at Walmart. One of these days I'll put it in when I feel like reading a movie - Spanish audio, English subtitles.
