Based upon a bunch of emails exchanged, it looks like beers will be had at The Collective in Woodinville tomorrow night at 6. Hope everyone can make it!

Clif, spot device mounted to the bike only works if you fall AND stay with the bike.....Would hate to be hurt and not be able to reach the help button.

Always debate on where to put the SPOT, but perhaps on-person is the best.

Thanks on the bike. Works really great, massive range now, and Alex-smooth.

    Def lookin good!

I used to keep my SPoT on a RAM mount. I like the idea cause I could easily adjust it's position to adjust for my route so that family could follow my tracks.

    Two things changed my mind.
    1. A low side in the middle of nowhere Canada. I landed 40ft downhill from my bike. Fortunately it was tall grass where I landed. 20ft an either direction and I would have been in large rocks or wrapped around a tree.

    2. A DS rider outside of Eburg laid in a ditch for more than 24hrs after leaving the road. Never heard the cause of his departure from the pavement but he was separated from his bike and his SPoT. Fortunately he survived.

I'm now less concerned with tracks and far more concerned about Medivac should I need it!

I totally agree with you tom. I almost lost the 990 over a cliff and it was on the bike, 20-30 miles from the road. Spot on the bike is a HORRIBLE idea.

You should tether yourself to bike and that way you will not lose the bike or the spot. LOL.

If I had that bike there's no way it would get lost, and spot probably wouldn't be needed... Just send SAR to the huge crater with smoke coming out of the center. :lol3

First to propose the location ?!?!? Now that's a change. :):norton

I'd like to suggest the Matador if there are no minors in attendance.
As alternate next door we now have The Tipsy Cow. [...]100% Grass Fed Beef and fresh baked Macrina Artisan Buns[...] and 42 taps to enjoy! [...]

    Any takers?

I am going to miss you guys tonight. I am attending a presentation at Ride West. My friends Tad and Gaila are doing a slideshow and talking about their 14 month road trip. I think there is still space if you would like to attend, just contact Ride West or me, I have a late afternoon meeting there today. Headed to BDR fundraiser in Wickenburg AZ Monday so am out next week too. Cheers

Wow, some place new... I'm game. Do they accept reservations there? Seems like it's been a busy place the times I've been there.

Geez I don't check on what you guys are doing for a while and I almost missed this awesome photo:

There is just something about it that really speaks to me. I think it's saying riding season is here. :ricky

I too keep my SPOT on the bike even though I know it's not the best place if there is a get off. But it's one hell of a lot better than what I and most of us were using 10 years ago (nothing). I ride alone a lot and need to change my attitude.

I think the post on this thread may have just changed my mine about where my SPOT will live in the future.

Moxie Girl, I'm so envious of you heading off to AZ. Have a great time. :clap Every time I see your name I think "eyes up" :lol3 You need to post more so I have a constant reminder. :thumb

To the rest of you Eastsiders on the Wet side - :wave

BruceO is right, Matador gets quite busy, let's try the The Tipsy Cow, I want to taste one of them glorious sounding burgers...

Planning to be there 5:30/:45 I'll hold a table for 6, as I am not seeing a surge of attendees (yet) - FYI, it's happy hour before 6pm...

Grinns, come down man, this is our chance in Redmond for once....
