Sold this one in the spring, like the GSX650F better for street riding, but it was fun.

My first bike was a TS50J Goucho,
then came a GS450E,
then came a GS750E,
then came a DS185,
then came a AN650 Burgman,
then came a AN400 Burgman,
then came a AN650A Burgman Executive,
then came a DL1000,
then came a DRZ400S,
then came a DR350SE

What can I say?

On my 2007 DL1000, I managed to neglect the maintenance intervals up to 15k miles. I only ever changed the oil and tires; not even the air filter. When I finally got around to do a full service, asides from a nasty air filter, everything else was good. Valves were still in tolerance, TPS was good, and TBS just needed a little adjustment. Replaced the air filter with a K&N and plugs with Iridiums. Only complaint I have is the stupid OEM ECU. Gives that sputter at 3.5k RPMs. Power Commander is next in line.

Well I'm not a Suzuki fanboy, I'm not a fanboy of any make. I started riding on a Yamaha and then went on to a Honda. But somehow I ended up with two Suzukis.

After selling my 125cc I wanted a street bike that handles great in the twisties and is good for touring. The SV650S was the best bang for the buck. Great V2 engine, fairly good suspension and cheap to buy and maintenance.

No major problems with the SV so far. A bit more than 30k miles on it and still runs great. Got some problems with the front spark plug when it's raining a lot and had to change the pickup for the speedometer once. Other than that - nothing.




My next task was finding a decent dual-sport. My choice fell on the DRZ400S - again the best bang for the buck.
Decent engine, big aftermarket supply, easy to maintenance yourself (just started doing it).

I went to the motorcycle dealer back in 2001 when I was 21. I fell in love with the DRZ but walked out with a KX500 because I didnt think I was ready for the road yet. Got out the door with a new kx500 for around $4,800. 10 years and alot of dirt bikes and ATV's later, I got my DRZ. A few monthes later, I got the daughter a JR. And just last night, I picked up a DR650. I had a 2003 LTZ400 and loved the balance of that motor also. A buddy of mine has it now. Its beat to hell but still kickin.

My DR650 turned over 20000 miles on a late night crisp, refreshing ride home from the fair , 90 miles. (I am a carnie, 31 years). Left the ten employees to their own devices for a few hours to do some banking but mostly just to twist the throttle. Saves my sanity sometimes. Going to take the street bike back.

Here ya go - I LOVE Suzukis man!

However, no damn pic of my GS750E. That wassa HUGE cool bike.... Kinda scary tho as a young E4 with no rear brake (dead hydraulics) and going 125mph with bad tires when I got all buggered up!

Damn sure wish I had a pic of it... LOVED the digital gear select readout!

The TS50J here is not mine but same color/year. Those Honda XR boys would kick my ass from a stop, but -- I gave them XR75's FITS on long straights with that 51mph BEAST (back in 1973) LOL! Thing would scream top end (likeabout 50 )

I guess you should imagine that red dirt road by Brooks & Dunn!

As you can tell - I like their big scoots too.

Now I am saddled with a mint condition Honda Transalp and a perfect Helix. How did these Hondas start to surface???

It's the new ride of da hood- Burgman Badasses. From what I understand they haul ass!!!

I like my sv650 because it's a pretty versatile bike. Handles everything well, but nothing particularly amazing stock.

Yeah well - waiting for an 83 year old trout fisherman to figure out your digital camera and take a frigging picture would be enough time for your two down to become a two up also!

And your right - those 650 Burgmen do haul ass.

Here's a couple more...Again the GS450E isn't MY bike, but it's the same color, year, and layout...that thing was a peg-scraper!

2 wheel fun, cheap cost, dealers all over,good aftermerket selection, and good used selections.

SV 1000S. Great V-Twin rumble/sound. Decent ergos. 100+hp. Boatload of usable torque. Fun to ride. (Luckily, the tinted face shield helps conceal the stupid grin on my face when I ride this thing) Now, which way to the twisties?!
