I have a white Safari tank on mine too. It is definitely a different shade of white than the white factory plastics. My first choice was tranluscent, but I would have had to wait several more weeks. One good aspect of the white tank is that you can see everything inside the tank when the cap is open.

A little carb cleaner sprayed on a clean cloth works great too.

Nice work ejtv. You've dropped some coin on that bike, I like it. Should serve you very well. Enjoy your ride.

What's the jacket he's holding? Is it any good? I'm always looking for more good hiviz gear (currently using some BMW mesh thingy that I bought after I bought my GS).

Very nice. Did you get the turn signal kit with the HDB handguards?

Those Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work just as good or better than the solvents like gas, and are good for other cleaning on the bike, they are cheap and work good, even the "generic" versions....

I try to shy away from using gas and stuff like that if I can help it, just for the smell reason alone...

    Re mods.

No, didn't get the turn signals from HDB. Should have. Got mine from them from Wheeling Cycle Supply.

Price on all the mods still cheaper than a KTM...and IMHO a better adv bike for all the reasons you all know already.

Cool, thanks for the tip. I still have to wire the tail and turn signals:D

I forgot to throw on the new skid plate. Just did that. I really loved the bike before. Can't wait to try it with the mods.

My first thought.."That is the biggest diameter bike tire I've ever seen! It will never fit your R!"

I had to do a double take on this pic before I realized that tire was in the foreground (on a table with similar coloration to the wood floor) rather than laying on the floor next to the bike. Ha!

Interesting to hear your take on the Athena mod.

My X to R swap is just about complete on my '08. :D

Yes '10 plastic is available. :deal

On the Wheeling wheelset, the rim lock is right next to the valve stem in stead of on the opposite side. Which makes for much more weight needed to balance (if you choose to do so). I'll mention it to them.
    Other than that, nice wheels.

Now to ease up on the X damping for trails...

Tony, what parts were necessary to install the scotts damper in addition to the HDB mount? Please be specific, with part #s if available.

    Bike looks terrific. Good job.
