Yup... one of our riders was stuck in the silt around RM 537 for about 10 hours. We were able to retrieve him and I jumped on the bike only to have the motor quit 40 miles later. I couldn't fix it and couldn't reach anyone on the radio so eventually I ditched the bike and started walking - but I was lucky enough to catch a ride with another chase team looking for their stuck truck. Oh well... Baja wins this time :lol3

You must have been on 259x, your rider was still there and said he was hurting too much to continue but that the bike was fine. I was on 201x and reported his location and situation to Baja Pits and everyone else I came across with a radio. glad to hear he got out.

Those silt beds were ridiculous! There was carnage everywhere

My first race was in 08 and was a nhha it was 94 miles and I was sore as hell for a week. Did my first 1000 as a two person team that same year. Since then I've done some local races, 2009 v2r and 2010 baja 1000 as a four person team.

Awesome riding Matt! I tried to get a video of your wheelie out of the first turn but you were to fast for me to keep it in frame. I don't know how to post it so I emailed it to you.

Rolling up to the line I told myself no wheelies or power slides at the start but obviously I don't have any self control. :evil

Way to go Matt! The call out at the awards was classic. This was a tough race and to finish solo is amazing. Viva Baja! Ready to head back south today. Love that place.

Geared up and ready to to head to the start.
It was a mild morning so Frog chose to ride from the house to the start line.

The first pit the crew would see Frog was El Crusero at rm 350. We arrived in plenty of time to get set up. Fano was in full crew form
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1353881089.024687.jpg

The plan was for the crew to always setup as close to baja pits as we could.
Frog rolled into BP about 4:30

Frog was in good spirits and was feeling strong

We strapped the lights on the bike and began working on a front brake issue. This was a terrible pit. We spent way too much time bleeding out a brake system only to discover later that there was no brake pads. Actually it was Angryshawn that discovered the missing pads. Luckily we had an extra donor bike so I jumped up on the rack and began stripping the pads from dumbgirls bike.

53 min later :( Frog is off

Our next scheduled meet was Viscaino at rm 550. The halfway point. This pit was hopping with crews and locals. It was complete madness. We could not find baja pits so we backed the truck as close to the course as possible. The TT trucks were flying by less than 10' from us. Because we could not park close to BP we had to do something to get Frogs attention. This should work;)

Viscaino went smooth. We swapped out wheels/tires, Frog took in some liquids and food and he was on his way.
