are you (or anyone else) using the Touratech power converter to "smooth out" the power supply?

The batt should do the deed. It's regulated full-wave, and with the batt it should be peachy. I admit to not having thrown a scope on it. I could throw a DVM on ACV only just to see if there is an AC component to the DC if I think of it and get a spare moment though.

If you are concerned, a cap-zapitor from Radio Shack should be fine. Needn't be overly large, and could fit beneath the seat.

A couple, should come up in a search. Most have determined that what the kit lightens from your wallet ($800+) it adds back kinda high for the XR.

Hey, where do you live on the island? I am moving there this spring. I just bought an '01 brp last summer and it is street legal. How is the riding on the island?

Hi bigwavedave - the island is a maze of logging roads in various stages of upkeep. I live near Sooke and mainly ride in the Sooke Hills.
Golden must still be winter wonderland - great riding in the summer though!
Contact me when you move to the Island.

Garmin CSX60 - using AA batteries. Keeps the unit sealed from dirt and moisture, works for about 20 hours before I need a new pair.

Use LITHIUM batteries. Longer life and a lot lighter which helps lessen the issue of loss of power due to vibration.

I just ordered a XRR D/S kit from Baja Designs. "Jayce" working at BD was great to deal with. They were very helpful. Pics of the install to follow soon :clap .

Magellan Meridian Gold GPS, ram mount, hard wired in with the cigarette lighter adapter. make sure you have the right power supply, mine is wired in with the front brake switch. Head light and tail light run wrong current and you will blow the inline resister. AA bateries in so when you stop the engine the unit will still run.
