Yeah maybe... He's about 35 miles from here, but IC is kinda a weird place re: guns. I dropped in there last week and looked at a blue Taurus 990 and decided that's the kind of gun I want, but I feel like with a Taurus that I'd be rolling the dice more than with the S&W. If I ever have money in my pocket I may have to have that talk with him.
When I buy them I have them shipped to the range. They sell a handful of used guns and a few on consignment. They're more than happy to accept a firearm transfer because it's not really competing with their sales.
EeHee!!! The deal has panned out! The mail man bringeth this post-haste... More better like pics to follow when she shows up. Mid 80's vintage (all UGSI parts) M1A NM. Huzzah I say. Huzzah!
Private sale, traded my Combat Commander and some dough for it. So.... Daddy wants to glass it this M1A. What kind of mounts you Hepcats running? I'm looking at the ARMS #18 or sumpin.
I figure when I get money I'll call a couple local guys and tell them what the deal is, and if they can come close I'll buy from them. When I have money
I've really got a boner for a .308 semi auto. Actually for an M14, but that's not gonna happen. And $3500+ to Fulton Armory is a out of the question. Soooo, Ar10 variant, M1A loaded, SOCOM II, FAL, or? ?? I like the Fulton SASS, and the Remington R25 (DPMS), or maybe the original AR10. But the SOCOM. .... Help!!
Things may be different in various parts of Texas, but we have one of two dealers of Class III weapons that advertise quite a bit. One had a large billboard with a machine gun on it. That may happen in other places, but I never saw advertised sales of Class III stuff in North Carolina or Florida.
Bah. The only thing Fulton Armory does great is convincing only their rifles are the best. They actually use Armscorp receivers. You should be able to track down an M1A for less than $2000. Just about any of the other brands but FedOrd and you should be okay good to go.
I just got offerred a near-new SA M1A last week, synthetic stock version, for $1000! Had to pass, dammit. Money's just that tight right now. Hurts, because I've had the hot running wants for one for a couple years now. 1911fan
I'm starting to consider selling a few things and getting a .338 Marlin Express. Anyone have experience with the .308/.338 by Marlin? I have read a bit on a marlin forum, and early models had a feeding problem that was cured with extractor fiddling. I realize that reloading options will be limited, but I am looking for a 200-300 yd deer rifle that can still pack a punch at that range. Not interested in the Browning.
