LOL, beer helps with everything! Seriously though, don't put the rubber parts in there, it will make them swell up.

I have a few of those countershafts for use here..... I've read they're not as durable as the 13 spline, what say you? I have a kicker assy I'm draggin my feet on, and I have a 13 spline in another motor that I've yet to take apart, but i'd like your input on it.

Too early to tell... I only have two riding seasons on the shaft. I used it because I had it in hand and it was in like new condition. I am "thrifty" (cheap):evil
Replacing a countershaft is not that big of a job once you've done it once so I wasn't too concerned about it.

Their handguards are bulletproof. Love 'em. Well worth the minor effort they require to tap out the handlebars. They provide the tap as well. The mirrors are good as secondary mirrors but I wouldn't be comfortable with them as primary mirrors on the road. Here's a before-mirror pic -

    From http://http://www.doubletakemirror.com/

There's a little bit more vibration than stock, but completely safe on the road and more importantly safe from drops! Infinite adjustability, and you can swap out other stuff on the RAM mount if you don't need 2 mirrors. Worked great for me.

Doubletake is also in the vendors section here on ADV. I've got them on my XRL as well, and find that they do vibrate more than the stock ones, but still useful. Love the adjustability, and build quality. I scuffed up the RAM mount ball a little to help keep the arm from slipping, and have been happy ever since.

All opinions in this post are not total maintenance suggestions, and relate only to the specific item in question. There are many other aspects related to your motorcycle that should be taken into consideration before making any changes that might interact with any other part of your motorcycle. :deal

sold by this guy. he also happens to be riding the Dakar this year, so if you got some extra $,and want the mirrors, now's a good time to support his cause.

Good guy, and great rider. Follow his Dakar thread, you won't be disappointed.

he also has some Dual Sport Riding Videos. If I was going to get some Dual Sport Riding Videos, I'd get them from him:evil:evil:evil
