It's been a long time since I had my GS1000G to recall model differences, but I would guess that the "L" had a more pronounced king/queen seat and possibly a chrome rear fender, rather than the "tail" on the "G". Congrats on the purchase. I don't think you will regret it! Lynn
The L was there cruiser model, high pull back bars, step seat and LL forks and a more tear drop tank. The G was the standard model with a wide flat seat, lower bars and a 5.8 gal standard tank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
i'll contribute to the cheap bike challenge "suzuki gs" sub thread. 6,000 mile 85 1150 with 6,000 original miles. went over by a hundred or so with expenses driving 600 miles round trip to pick up.
I am seriously eye humping this sweet machine. That is the sweetest GS I have ever seen and GS's is the only bikes(6) I currently own.
Got er for 700.00 at a swap meet. Well under 1,500.00 after replacing almost every seal, heads, tires and bearings. A before pic, looks about the same now and a pic of the mock-up of the new front end to be installed soon. I'll get an after shot next week.
I don't know... That mirror looks un-fixable. Tell you what- make sure it runs for me, I'll fly out there and ride it home so you don't have to worry about dumping any more money into it.
