I needed to be home by Wednesday for Taco Tuesday.

I had a week of vacation but wasn't sure who I was going with or where but I new I needed to get out and go for a ride. I was either thinking about taking my XR650 on dirt roads through Oregon or take my CB900 over to the coast. My dad, Bud, just got back from a month long ride through Alaska and I knew he probably wouldn't be up for another ride. He had just got back on Saturday and I planned on leaving Monday morning. It didn't hurt to ask, so I ran over to his house and ran the idea by him. To my surprise he was all over the idea. He grabbed a couple maps and our trip was planned. We would ride to Glacier Park, head up to Canada and be home by Wednesday night for Taco Tuesday.

5:30 a.m. My bike was warming up and I was ready to go. I had to be at dad's house by 6:00.





Before I could leave on my trip, I had to make sure I got my new ADV sticker on.




Dad had his bike out, two cups of coffer drank and already figuring out where we would eat breakfast. :huh I'm not much of a planner so it was nice to have someone along who worked on the logistics.

We stopped at the Palouse Tavern for breakfast in the town of Palouse WA.



You don't need to tell me twice.



I would like to meet the beer that requires this opener.



I looked for a place to advertise ADV Rider but there was no space.



When I asked the lady what the special will be this Friday, she replied “we don't have specials on Friday”.



I had pancakes while dad had bacon and eggs. On this trip I noticed he eats a lot of bacon.





It is a beautiful ride through the Palouse during this time of year.



Dad is fueled on bacon and M&M's. The water is just to rinse everything down.



Snake Pit Bar, a landmark for over 100 years. It is located off the Kingston exit off I90.





Right after we left the Snake Pit Bar, it started to rain so we stopped to put on our rain gear. Because of the rain I didn't take any pictures going over Thompson Pass. The clouds were low and the mountains were socked in.








By the time we got to Thompson Falls, MT the rain had stopped and the sun was out.









We got a room in Whitefish, MT. We dropped our luggage off, washed the bikes and went to look for dinner.



We found great BBQ at the Piggyback restaurant.









Dad needed to have dessert....apple pie a la mode



After dinner we went for a little ride to
work off our dinner.





Total miles for the day was 407 miles. On the move for 8 hours and stopped for 3.

Day 2 – Will take us through Glacier Park and in to Canada.

ah the snake pit in kingston! been there many of times before, there's great snowmobiling back in them hills. make sure to get pictures with your dad and you with the glaciers as they may not be there much longer.

After loading up the bike in the morning, I realized she just had her 50<SUP>th</SUP> birthday. She's a great bike.



Dad mentioned he knew a great place for breakfast at the entrance of the park. Montana Coffee Traders had excellent coffee and according to dad the bacon quiche was excellent as well.





Glacier National Park was established in May 11, 1910 and encompasses 1,013,322 acres.



Lake McDonald Lodge was built in 1914 and has 100 guest rooms.









33 old touring busses were built by White Motor Company in 1930 to be used to shuttle passengers through the park. These busses remained in use until 1999 when there were concerns for their reliability and safety. At that time Ford Motor Company rehabilitated the vehicles to what we see today.







You can either buy a seat on the DeSmet or rent a boat.

While waiting for road construction, a mountain goat decided to stop by and pay me a visit. I was lucky I had my camera out and ready.



Logan Pass - Located at 6,646 feet above sea level along the Continental Divide. It is the summit of Going-to-the-Sun Road.

Nice! Glacier National Park can only be surpassed in beauty by the parks of Alberta and BC. I'm looking forward to more.

[FONT=Times New Roman, serif]I made it home by 5:30 to pick up my sister. We had made plans to ride out to Prescott for Taco Tuesday. They use to offer the tacos on Tuesday but have recently changed the day to Wednesday but we still call it Taco Tuesday. [/FONT]

On day 3 we covered 406 miles. I got to see a new National Park and more importantly got to spend time with my dad.

That's a mighty nice looking CB you got there.
