Sorry about that...i don't even think about these terms anymore. We have the blisk forged, then they do the final machine work on it. My place of work supplies the blades that go on it...they get friction welded in place. Very cool stuff

You are having waaaaay too much fun for that cold of weather.

At the end when you were coming to a stop and the bike kicked.. if you'd have fallen on your arse I would have pee'd my pants laughing :D

Ah THAT tower, thanks for the tip, note to self: must get new glasses. :shog

I think this is a very smart system, but was not entirely sure how it would impact the steering & how the front feels. Do you notice any difference?

I've only had one crash on the ice and it was on a TTR 125:lol3 Totally pounded me into the ice.

If I had on my proper riding gear instead of Carharts and muck boots, I would have got on it a bit harder:lol3

These are the extreme temperatures I am talking about :deal :D
Had I been riding the thing I would have probably spend more time picking it up that riding it the right side up :rofl ....

What you can´t see on the pic is the indicator control light which sits lower in the cockpit, stupid KTM stuff with too short cables :cry
In the next year I´ll replace some wiring to get it in a good shape, i hate cable tangle....

What I cannot also see is the left rear tank and what seems to be an oil cooler (where from?) :lol3

I would not mind some pics of the tower itself :evil
Very clean indeed and nice addition of all year round tyres :D

    I hate cables too :baldy

Left side tank ? There you go  The "oil cooler" is just the oil filter housing for the paper filter.

Ok, so, now we established that this bike is immaculate :eek1:eek1:eek1
When will you decide to sell it ? :happay

To stay on the subject the tower looks on the heavy side of things :linzi

These rear tanks were amazing... It's my dream bike :deal

I just bought it in decembre and rebuilded it a bit. Last saturday I did my entry to the Baja 300 Middle Germany which is a 2 day 300 miles rally raid in an open pit mine in may :evil
So hopefully I can keep this bike for the next years (or forever )

Got my fairing mounted today and had to go for a test spin despite the cold weather:

The fairing works great. I installed mine in the lowest possible position since this is my trail bike. I'm 5'10" and at 80 mph the wind hits me in the goggles. It's a nice clean airflow with no buffeting. I like how it keeps the air pressure off the chest.

I'm using a wide beam squadron as my low beam mounted in the upper position and pointed slightly down to illuminate the area in front of the bike. In the lower slot I have a spot squadron as a high beam pointed straight ahead. The low beam is run through an LED PWM dimmer with a high beam bypass all controlled from the handlebar Hi/lLo switch. This way on low beam only the top spot LED is on at 40% power and on high beam both LEDs are on at 100% power.

I think I know what that is. Ned and I talked about making one if we ever had spare time.
