Pretty cool that they were actually watching closely enough to notice what she did. It shows they are really interested, not just there for the promo.

I have a Stihl weed whacker, and that thing will shred anything put before it. It is also the quietest a,d most fuel efficient trimmer I have ever owned.

I also own one of their leaf blowers, which will clear the driveway wet or dry. In fact, the ground is close to dry after a pass from the blower.

When I worked for the USFS they were supposed (or seemed) to buy equipment from everyone...e.g. trucks (AKA "Crummy's"): International, Dodge, Ford, etc. For us field workers it was a interesting way to "test" and compare stuff. The same went for saw's; McCulloch Homelite and Stilhl. We'd almost fight over who got to use the Stihl saws, they were so much better. (And much safer, too).

Are Stihl's still German? Maybe they can give some pointers to BMW?

Great story

I have a little MS180 saw that I put a 12" bar and chain on, great for trimming trees and keeping in the truck toolbox for trail cleaning.

...and maybe it is a story. It's a feel good story that ought to be publicized.

Funny thing is, I can't find any mention of it except on ADVRider. Not on the events webpage, or the Facebook page, or in press releases, or even on the Stihl corporate page, or Youtube.

How in the hell could a young lady, throwing her chances of wining a competition, and winning a chainsaw for her efforts not show up in social media or Youtube?

I'm old and cynical, pics or video, or it didn't happen. :huh

 It's funny and I'm glad you mentioned this cause I felt the exact same way! skeptical, I to searched everywhere for any news, especially on Stihl web sites and Stihl blog page ( http://www.stihlusablog.com/ )cause I wanted a photo!
After I posted this story, I mentioned my skepticism to my wife and she gave me further info, She said the "event" did take place as I described with the only difference being that the contest was put on by Stilh and wasn't part of the "official itinerary" of the Student Career Days Landscape Olympics. A few days later I met some of my wife's students who were there and they corroborated the story.
Why it isnt this posted by Stihl anywhere? I have no idea, but if I were them, I would be sharing it with everyone!
