CLEARLY, the Buell Lightning is faster, has far superior handling, and is much better looking.

    :lol3 Sorry, couldn't resist.......it's late and I can't sleep.

It's not that hard to take the levers off, heat them up with a propane torch, and bend them in a bit.

    New here, my first post.

This was my first bike in 20 years. '99 Sporster I bought from a college kid in '99 who was living with his Mom. He spent part of his college fund on it. When Mom found out, she said "Sell it, or move out." I got it for half what he paid for it. Sold it in 2002 for more than twice what I paid.

I don't think I've run a full pic of my Ironhead in this thread, so here 'tis.

Nice - that's pretty much the look I'm going for with mine.
    What is the saddle? Fairing?

The seat is a Mustang Fastback, the fairing an old Tracy "Black Rain" model. Dual drilled discs on the front with EBC kevlar pads, Progressive front springs, SE fork brace, and a Ness cafe front fender. The rear has a bobbed stock fender and FXDX (Superglide Sport) shocks. The engine is a little past Stage 1 level, with hot-rodded carb, modded SE air cleaner, ported intake, free-flowing exhaust, extra crankcase venting, oil cooler, 23/49 gearing, and SE ignition. For comfort, I'm running Night Rod Special handlebars - sort of like the old K&N superbike bars. It's a fun bike, and it handles pretty well.

    Thanks for the compliments.

Nice bike but it is an XL1200C NOT "R"

The XL1200R is a different bike... Has a 19" front wheel (cast) with dual front brake rotors and some other differences. I do not believe an R was offered in '02'...It was an "S" model.

The "C" (bike pictured) has a 21" and single rotor.

No problem - we all like to talk about our bikes. I'm always happy when someone likes what I've done to mine and asks questions. Most Harley riders don't give it a second look...

Getting there. Switch to a stock R seat, which is damn fabulous - not sure why there's so many complaints. Superbike bars, NRHS hurricane AC, progressive shocks and ricor intiminators. Few other little changes in there too.

Still not sure if I want to throw a 2-1 on there.
