    And the results are in...
Up to the look out, down to the creek, it was all good. There's a vid...
Doesn't really show me, (my 600 running), I'm the camera man. I got great shots of my old 82 XR500R and a crf450 riding the single track trail. If you go to 6:20 on the video, that's where bill stands his bike up and pivots around, then drops it...

I really liked how my bike did so good over everthing. I'd ride a section then wait for these guys to show up...

    Hi guys!
I will have to replace the COUNTERSHAFT because of the wear of the teeth in my XR500r.
I want to use the NEW XR600R-2000 23220-MN9 - 980 COUNTERSHAFT (I have all the necessary gears to the shaft).
    Can I use OEM XR650R SPROCKET (14T) - 23801-MBN-670 together with NEW XR600R-2000 23220-MN9 - 980 COUNTERSHAFT?
The thickness of the OEM XR650R SPROCKET (14T) more, she will be able to maintain the correct position of the chain?
Sorry, this has already been discussed, but I find it hard to find the exact answer (my English is very bad):cry.
    Thank you.:ear

Make sure you do not have any leaks on your rubber intake boot. I fought a long battle with mine until I found this simple remedy. Also, make sure your mixture screw is adjusted properly if the "miss" is happening while it is idling.

is it ok to run my bike at wide open throttle in 5th gear down the highway. as of right now ive only been to 80 mph on it but im scared of messsing up my engine btw i have 14/48 gears

. it seem like my old 83 xl600r would do like 105 mph topped out. and was never scared of blowing her up.

Thanks for the input I'll look at the rubber intake boot, doubtful that's it. How do I know if I have the mixture screw adjusted properly. I'm at about 2 full turns.

The bike runs great and starts great, just this one problem.

    Thanks again

    Oh yeah! 2 wheels!

    Started first kick....no lights...measured voltage at the ni-cad battery....nothing....AC/ 6 volts....rev it up....2 volts a/c...

Un plug the stator, stator shows 14v then up to 50v ac revved up, so that is good....plug in JUST the regulator/rectifier....stator volts drop to 6v a/c...

I am quite sure this baja regulator is toast...the battery is for sure.

Thanks Steve, I love KNOWING it will start up first kick when you put the motor together :freaky

It is a nice bike, too bad i gotta sell her.

I pulled out my very old White Bros catalog and I didn't see it so I just searched for Roost Boost and this is one of the things I found:

the roost boost is nothing more than a simple RC,resistor capacitor, circuit. The system basicly produces a more consistant spark which is supposed to help the low end, but if the bike is tuned correctly the roost boost does nothing. There are a few other variations in names, I have one on my 406, and had a spare so i cut it apart and found a 2200 ohm resistor connected in series to a 400 micro farad capacitor, guessing on that are it was really hard to read.

BTW... I have one on MY XR600 from way back when.

How about a JE 10.5/1 CR piston? I have a spare XR cylinder I could get bored for ya. This and the CW 628 piston should wake your slug right up. I even have a spare XR head that can get the CW love. Port 'n polish, big fins,TI spring kit, the works. It's only money honey.

is that je slug he famed over comped piston? unlike the wiseco which is under comped,

I read about a guy having a 10.5 in his bike and it was actually more comp around 11+ and he was having pinging issues

Im already getting the valve springs, ti keepers, seals etc...from cw right? anything in the mail yet? you meant 628 cam right?:D

    anywhoo,

I have my head that already has new kibblewhites, valve guides, seals, etc...it is not ported or anything

wanna trade some stuff? I got cylinders too...

Id love some headwork that I could use with my old stainless headers, that would be sweet huh?

    anywhoo

shoot me a message with the deals!

    well see

    cheers
