Just pulled and checked my swingarm slider guard. 17,000+ miles and it's got a few grooves but
    plenty of meat left.

    It can be done!:thumb

    And MSRP under US$5k

I think with the CRF250L and CBR250RA, Honda should now own the small-displacement urban commuter class. Prices even compare favorably with a highway-capable scooter.

Weight is a concern, for sure, but in any case, I am glad to have a new entry into this field. Maybe we'll get the fuel injected KLX now to answer Honda, and maybe Yamaha will lower the WRR price some.

Just curious......... How long on the stock chain? How many other chains in the amount of time? Brand of replacement chain?

Not exactly sure how to take that? :huh......................... So I'll consider it compliment! :clap
We all have to live somewhere, and this is where the cosmos planted me. The trick is to just keep exploring, and it's amazing what you'll find........ even in Kansas! That and it makes going to Colorado that much more of a treat! :rofl I can be at my secret Forest Service Cabin before sundown if I leave first thing in the morning. :evil

Just to throw my .02 in here, I use Primary Drive x-ring chains from Rocky Mountain and they last me about 6,000 miles.

Kansas is good. Hotter than Arkansas though I think? Enjoyed riding in your fine state but will request the wind be less than 100mph next time!!

I got rid of the stock chain and sprockets really quickly, 1500 miles. (Might have been
the first one playing at changing the rear gearing back in 2008). Replaced with a DID Gold O Ring
along with a Renthal Aluminum 46T rear sprocket which gave me about
13,000 miles . Replaced with a 2nd DID and Renthal sprocket at 13,000
    miles.

I keep my chains and sprockets clean and especially after riding in muddy, sandy grit.
You don't do that and it dosen't matter what bike you've got, you're going to have a
    buggered up chain.

Could someone direct me to the "Idiots Guide to Fuel Pump Replacement"?

I have the pump via Service Honda. I'm handicapable with a wrench. I usually like to take a few unnecessary items apart, to get to what I need then try all the wrong ways of putting it all back together before finding the "correct" way. :huh

I do have the FSM, and plan on skimming that before I dig in.

    Thanks

    Vince

My three car garage, with studs and one light bulb fixture was transformed over the summer. Walled off the 3rd car stall to make a mini cave for myself and the WR. I only do oil changes, minor fixes, and some tinkering, but I like to do it on my terms. Now it's done and I'm going to enjoy this winter more than the last one.

That garage is awesome. I have a 16x25 I used to use for building traditional archery equipment. I got out of that after back surgery #2 so I am slowly transforming it back into a bike work shop. The going is much slower than I had hoped. I am definitely jealous of yours :D :1drink .
