5 years so far, no letter yet. I don't complain about my neighbors, they don't complain about me.
The general rule around here is if you keep it under 6' (height of the block wall) you can do anything you like.
I was really surprised I didn't get anything when I had the backhoe in the backyard for a weekend. That thing could be seen from blocks away.

But if I let a weed grow in the front yard...

The fun one, next year I will be applying for an exemption to the rules. Going to ask for permission to put an ocean container in the side yard. Neighbors already verbally agreed. If the HOA complains too much, I can always point out that the HOA office is in violation of their own rules. Can't rent a house out as a business office. They have their business office in a house inside the sub division:deal
I really need it to open up the garage space.

Bronco, you should edit your "location' in yer profile, this way people know at least what state you live in?

I have this, but I don't think The Wife would appreciate my hammering it with a trials bike. :D Plus, it'd prolly start coming apart pretty quick.

If you ask for permission, it will never happen.

Put some ribbon down and you won't be able to resist.

That's what mine is suppose to look like. Currently under construction (see post #190). Until then it is fair game except for the teaser mini waterfall that is already done.

It's been under construction for 5 years now. Actually went backwards when the freeze took out most of the trees a couple years ago.

Someday I hope mine looks as good as yours. Probably just before I sell the house.

Backyard and frontyard trials was in full swing last Sunday. NMTrailboss came down at the last minute and we rode the hell out of the yard! :lol3

We laid out some ribbon in the front and made some "rules" like you have to go over all three rocks before doing the rest of the section.

Way harder than it at first looks. Here is NMTB trying various methods.

Some balance with a floater turn stuff.

It really doesn't take much to get a good workout. We worked on some stuff up there all morning. :knary

Then moved out back and he grabbed Deb's 125 to "try it out". :rofl

    Back on the 4RT.

Deb on her first log crossing! :clap

I finally got the courage to try my newly installed splatter wall. :huh

Then moved over to this kicker (which is too close for a splatter but thought I would give it a go anyway with some kind of roll up deal-e-o).

It worked but scared the hell out of me as I knew it would take some extra effort and the rear tire hit really high and I carried this sick (but un-planned) wheelie clear down the backside. I thought that the front kissed the wall but from the pic, I don't think that it did.

Some of us have commented on that phenomenon before. Sometimes when you go up a big (for us) up, you just get on the top and aren't really sure how it all happened. :rofl

Next week, we go to the mountains of Taos for some real stuff. :freaky

Seriously though, great talking to you the other night. Look forward to riding with you soon. :D

Great stuff out in NM. Let's see the side yard set up.

So I was gazing out the back door last evening as The Wife was in the kitchen doing what wives do. I made an off handed comment on how I'd like to bring in some large rocks, some boulders, logs, & maybe a Tonka truck tire & build a practice area. She laughed, but not in a disapproving tone. Should I capitalize & go for it, or check her with a serious question? I'm thinking I could pitch it as saving money on fertilizer & maintenance, & I wouldn't be yelling at the dogs for digging. In fact, thier digging would only help. What do you think?

BTW, I already know the line about asking forgiveness later, so don't give me that. :D
