After people have made it home, I hope to be able to find one place to see all the reports and pics! In this thread or somewhere else? If the latter, please post up links here! I have a few shots from Saturday's rides and the Friday games.

    Home safe and sound.
Rode home from Bend via the Nighthawk border crossing to Vancouver, -15 hour day.

The bike had a few miss haps on the WABDR, 1 roll over - the 990 was sitting in a creek on the handle bars (broken left mirror and cracked right side lens), clipped the side case causing the fall into the creek, 1 low side - hot into a corner (no damage)

Saturday, 1 crash - bottomless silt, was seeing stars after that one.

    Looking forward to next year

    Just a followup post-event....

This event was really fun, exceeding any expectation I had. Fantastic folks all the way around. The KTM guys, the racers, vendors, and all the attendees. It was really a pleasure to get to hang out with everyone and share some time on the trail.

Pre-ride on Thursday night. I topped Triangle Hill just as a wall of smoke from the Pole Creek Fire (http://www.inciweb.org/incident/3244/) was just starting to march rapidly across the valley at us after an ominous change in wind direction.

I managed drain my 690 battery flat on Friday while I was working after riding to the rally in the morning. Somewhere in the process of charging and getting the bike going, my dash fried itself (odo and wheel size reset, speed showing 300kph , etc). Tyler, the lead KTM tech there, worked on it for me and after finding that my warranty just expired, worked a "goodwill" replacement dash for me!

Saturday, I was ready to ride. I ended up leading Mike Lafferty and a group of other KTM guys and rally attendees on two fun, scenic loops. First we headed up to Tumalo Falls and Triangle Hill.

I met a surprising number of guys from Bend that I did not yet know. That's Kevin (who should have charged for photos of his super-trick 690) sitting with Lafferty at the falls.

It was really fun riding with Mike. He's very easy-going and very down-to-earth.

On the way to Sheridan Mountain via a powdery but very fun dirt road, I hit a tinny twig and felt it slap my left foot. Then the bike stopped running. I pulled in the clutch and as I coasted to a stop, I tried to start it in neutral. That worked and it died immediately upon shifting into gear, confirming my first suspicion before I was even stopped. Kickstand ignition interlock switch broken. After determining that we couldn't just short around the kickstand sensor, we called into the techs, who gave us another workaround and we were off and riding again. It certainly helps to have a direct line to the best techs that KTM has.

Great event. They sold out the Bend event for the first time ever at 250 dirty and happy attendees.

was that I didn't let Claude hop on the back of my 450 for a spin through the obstacle course. And he asked so nicely. I apparently forgot about the first line of my signature.

Great ride in from Hood River with all the guys that met up at Apple Jams place. I lucked out and got to ride with CJ, Jeff, and Cyborg on Wednesday and had a great time. You guys are fast and it was everything I could do to hang with you. Apple Jam and I had a great ride back to Hood River yesterday taking every back road we could find. Got home with a big ass smile:clap

Save travels to all you guys with long trips home. Pretty jealous as I getting ready to go back to work today.

Here's my take away photo from the event, captures the good time of the rally pretty well.

I met up with Radek, and ISD22 at snoqualmie pass on Tuesday morning. We where granted a sweet dust free trip threw Tacoma pass and GP on the way To Applejams place where we met up with a great group of guys, from there it was a good ride to kingfisher campground for the night. The next day we fallowed some of Jimmy lewis's tracks but finished up getting to Bend on the really good stuff Applejam supplied.:clap
On fri we where treated to a great ride with local rider K_N_Fodder leading the way. Still smiling from the entire trip.
It was nice to meet new friends, get some serious riding in and enjoying everyones thoughts on the big bikes.
The Canadian contingent was a real pleasure, You guys Rock!!
My only regret is not putting an ADV handle to all the guys I met.
Special thanks to Applejam and K_N_Fodder, you guys are the best.

If you attended the rally and didn't have a great time, that is your fault! What a great group of people. Top notch event with great riding options. Our ride Saturday was ridiculously fun....that is until one of the guys, ,caughryancaugh, decided to grenade his clutch cover but that is a story for him to tell. Much thanks to Rescue 1. Here is a few pics from the weekend.

Great time had by me-n-BigBertha and the above pics really tell the tale!
Can't wait to get with some of the guys I met and trade riding stories again! Finally getting to meet some of the Bend crew and putting faces to names and ADV handles was funnn.

KTM Tech master Tyler, after teasing me about ruining a perfectally good bike with my million modifications, was the only soul brave enough to take a spin on BigBertha and he survived!:clap
