It's pretty much crowd sourced material. So if you are in an area without much input they are really not that great. For other areas (Europe specifically) they are generally really good.

That makes sense (I think). It looks like I'll be ordering CNNA tonight when I order the mounts I need.

    Thanks

Damn! That's right! Thanks for the inadvertent reminder. I'm going to need topos for Canada. Emmbeedee knows why.

What he said. Dont forget to send in your track log if something is missing. Thats how it works. Please contribute back to the project. It only gets better if you contribute corrections or new roads.

    Sale pitch over and out

That's the interesting part. When looking at the map (it's the only map enabled) the intersection is there, right where it should be. So I'm not sure what the issue is: is it the map, the GPS or the operator?

Also, I'm VERY new at this OSM thing. I wasn't even aware of it until last week so I'm not sure how to contribute back. I'm willing to learn but not really sure where to start, any suggestions?

This is starting to feel like a thread hijack but I still don't know if this is a Montana/me issue or not.

That is a great tip. Thank to all who replied, I will put it all on a card with a backup card.

Just placed an order for a 650T from Cabelas.

    On sale for $549

$5 shipping w/ Visa Club membership, no tax

$500 worth of Cabelas gift cards bought with Citi Thank You points.

    $55 paid w/ Cabela Points

Total out of pocket - $0!!!

Hope I'm not making a mistake going back to Garmin after the fiascos I had years ago with my StreetPilot and having to 'repurchase' maps because I happened to get a new laptop. Now I just need City Nav DVD and an AMPS mount...

I got excited for a second, but with tax and shipping it was over $600, which is more than Amazon.

If anyone else is interested but doesn't have Cabela's points/rewards, go to the 650T on Amazon (make sure you have 650T selected) and scroll to feedback (in light blue) at the bottom of the page choose tell us about a lower price. All you have to do is paste the Cabela's link and type in the price. If enough people do it Amazon will usually lower their price also.

Hope you don't mind but I am also going to post this (with credit to you) in the GPS deal sticky.

I got mine from REI for $499. Free shipping no tax. Just have to watch when they put them on sale.

Too much haste. I rushed out and bought two Garmin power/data cables expecting to use them on a couple of my motorbikes. I've since read more of this thread and Emmbeedee's other thread and determined that the rugged mount is the way to fly. Ordered. I'm not sure if I'm going to need these two power cables. I'm going to use the SAE connector setup since my bikes already have those installed for battery chargers.

Hmm. Wonder how often they go on sale. Guess I could wait another month or 2 and hope someone drops it that low. $499 sounds like a damn goo deal.

There's usually a sale around annual events like Easter, Christmas, etc, so Easter is your next best bet.

Because Garmin reserves the right to deny warranty for eBay purchases unless they are from the Garmin eBay store. Better check to make sure the store you buy from is approved. Don't take their word for it, though.

Here's what Garmin has to say about it.

    Congrats TS :thumb

I have not tried the GeoCache stuff but the one you did looked complicated and rewarding at the same time.
