Yes, the Enfield is certainly a looker.
But there was another looker in Lima waiting for me.
    Can you blame me?
I am using her computer while she is away.
    Found these pictures there.
    I hope she won't mind:evil

Besides, I need something to post until I get a moto back between my legs

So tell me which one and I will get it all charged up and ready to ride.

What about your GPS? Seems like you have been pretty reliant on the thing. Do you have a mounting idea? or are you not bringing it?

    OMG
    That is an awesome video
I love the good Samaritan coming in and grabbing the guys gun at the end.

And that is sort of my plan. If some guys try to steal my BMW at gun point, I will let the bike fall to the ground and watch them try to pick it up from a safe distance. See, that is the reason why I carry so much wine with me. It is for ballast.:clap

But I don't think the same plan will work for the Honda.

    Ha!
I figured you have been riding them all considering you are holding the keys while I am away
    :rofl

Actually, on the Thai side of the border, though only just. Let me know if/when you have plans to be in north Thailand.

I am hoping to use the same Garmin unit. I love it. I think it came with a universal handlebar mount. It is somewhere in the storage container I hope. I will probably spend a day looking for that and some other stuff to bring with me. Maybe you can help and we can dip in to the wine cabinet:freaky

It is amazing how quickly people with guns arrived on the scene.
I noticed traveling around the world, the places with the most police officers visibly present were the places that were the least safe to be.
I am wondering why the kid trying to steal the guy's moto didn't get up.

he didn't got up because he was shot twice...., but yeah...i was wondering the same thing...lot's of police arrived way before any ambulance.
But on the other hand, the robber would have shot the guy on the bike without flickering, that's why the police in Brazil reacts like that...it's a real shame :/ great country and great people (mostly of course...)

Yes, I like these a lot as well.
But they have one limitation.........You can't carry a passenger.
With my setup, I can stash the camping gear or mount it on top of the Rear hard case and off we go.
Kathe might join me for part of the ride next year

    Wow
I had the sound turned too far down before to hear the gun shots
    Now it all makes sense.
I thought the moto was just too heavy for him.

    Swift justice
    No trial
An overall happy ending to me

Holy crap! That's quite a video. I'll be too scared to carjack any motorcycles for a while after watching that. Unless it's a Ducati, then bob's your uncle, I'm away with it.

I've waited a long time to put any replies in here, but since you asked. I was google searching for something about my f800gs(also happens to be yellow). Oil capacity or some other maintenance. I was already ADV member and a friend of Scubalong so he had probably already told me of you blog but he probably sends me a dozen links every few months so i had never checked it until the random search.

Coincidentally, I live in the Central Coast area of California. Ride dirt (ever hear of Pozo ORV) and street(live just of Hwy 41 near 229 and hwy 58). My primary ride a 98 VFR 800 has over 90000 miles. I also enjoy wine and beer and outdoor things.

I have almost caught up to present. I have enjoyed your journey. I am glad you take the time.

You live in one of my favorite areas in the world. Not just because of the good wine, but the great roads. Hwy 58 and 229 are some of the best. And yes, I have been to the town of Pozo. I once gave a hitchhiker a ride from Fresno to Atascadero. Once he got in the car I was sorry I had stopped because he stunk so bad. I just rolled down the windows and we talked about picking mushrooms to panning for gold.
You also have one of my favorite motorcycles I have never owned. At some point I want to buy one and complete my RTW tour in Australia on one.

Funny thing is all I want to do is relax, have a beer and watch TV right now.
I got watch both a F1 and MotoGP race this weekend on Kathe's new big screen. But come Thursday, than will come to an end.

    Stunning pics....:clap Got anymore ? :lol3

Have you ever thought about doing part of the trip without a motorcycle?
Using public transportation or some other means?

Would have to make border hopping easier.
