Most dealers won't do anything if you just have the tick, anyway.
It's the associated CEL that comes with the "tick problem" that finally get's the ball rolling on the head replacement.
The CEL is something that can't be denied, covered up, cleared(it'll come back on in a matter of miles), etc...

I understand your situation being different than most though(and totally respect it)...I was merely making a blanket statement about how blown out of proportion the head problem has become.

I was commenting to my wife just today about playing in the mud when I lived in OH. It was cool back then, but now, the thought of spending an entire day to get the mud off the machine is much less appealing (but the mud still looks cool). Now that we're out west, I totally avoid mud even on the bikes.

Places like this are much more my style (from the break in drive)

BTW, how do you like the body colored fender flares and top?

I'm not a mud fan, as you can tell from the picture comparing my Jeep to the other two...but sometimes it's unavoidable. I'd love to live out west where you can wheel. Definitely jealous!!

I ordered this Jeep, love the body colored top...the flares are ok.
Next spring, the flares will be replaced by Nemesis Industry flares...along with quite a few other things.

West is best. I don't even want to take my Rubicon off road in Ohio anymore after the week I spent with it in Moab a month ago.

I have a 2012 Sport, and that's my opinion as well. I understand though that if the OP lives overseas, that's another matter entirely.

The OP? He's fine and in CO, bought his Jeep and near as I would think is just fine with it and long ago got his questions answered about the manual tranny (think he got the slushbox, though). We've just been yammering on for the past 2 pages on inconsequential BS totally off topic. :lol3

    Well now...
It's been 2 months; how about an update, and how do you feel about the auto trans?

I just spent all day in the woods with my stock 95 YJ Wrangler with the I4/5speed w/ ls rear. What a capable little rig. Nothing fancy, but really tractors around.

I just traded my old 1999 Cherokee on a 2013 Unlimited 4 door auto. I am a big fan of manual transmissions, but this auto is nice. Very happy with my decision.

In trying to get anything resembling reasonable mileage out of my '13 JKU Rubicon I am short shifting the shit out of it. Though I prefer a manual, I have to admit considering the Rubicon gearing the auto would be nice for daily driving. I'm in third gear by 20 mph, and fifth gear by 35. That's a hell of a lot of shifting in city traffic! I'd love a transfer case with a third overdrive range.

I picked this one up last night.

Not yet sure how I'm going to bond with it. I traded my trusty XJ of the past 12 years. I already miss it. :cry

I suppose it will grow on me :lol3

Mine has arrived in port. I completed the customs documents yesterday. I might be able to see it Sunday, and take receipt Monday. We'll see. 2013 Unlimited Sahara Auto.

I miss my former 2 door JK's, TJ's, and YJ. But I have to admit this has helped me find comfort in my loss:

What do you guys think of the new wheels? When I first saw them I thought they were hideous. Now, they are starting to grow on me...

BTW, 21mpg on this tank of fuel. 6 speeds RULE! :clap

I've had it less than 24 hours so maybe some of you who have actually read the owners manual can tell me: what exactly does the ECO light mean? At first I thought it was in some kind of economy mode but when I pulled away from a stoplight I noticed it went off.
