dakarboy, love the pics just for the fact that they are all on the same bike and provide a great timeline of growing up
Two daughters, 6 and 10. 6yo loves bikes and just sitting on them...not legal to pillion here yet. 10 yo totally uninterested in bikes until.....I bring home a 1974 TL125 pretty little silver and blue thing. 10 yo says..."hey I could even ride that" Dad, busting with anticipation says...."absolutely lets go". Front yard sit and start is successful......boots jacket and helmet to come REALLY looking forward to the next few years
That's great Don!!! Looks like your daughter enjoyed the ride!!! Mine is gonna be 15 next week and has no interest in bikes...oh well.
Only a father with daughters can understand! You will remember that ride the rest of your days. That there was a lucky moment.
enjoy these times life can change in a moment .I lost my daughter and her husband to a drunk driver in 2005 . luck her kids were not with them . she and went on many ride together mostly offroad . i sure miss her
KK at chirstmas, she wanted to ride, but was too scared when it came down to it, now after riding a powerwheels alot she might be ready, it's just too damn hot right now.

Thanks everyone for their great pics and stories. My daughter is 10 and loves riding on the back of my bike., but I'm not comfortable taking her on anything more than around the block until I can afford to get her ATG. Hopefully we'll be getting her geared up soon, so she can enjoy a long ride with me!
If I am as lucky as you, one day she will take interst too. Many thanks for sharing your story. This is my best friend (just don't tell her that)LOL btw, that is me in the goofy hat, yet she loves the hat.. She picked it out!
Great thread - my Emily is 9 and growing like Georgia kudzu in July. She's the happiest kid I know and will try just about everything with a smile on her face. Couldn't imagine life without her. Was down on the Outer Banks on vacation a few weeks back and made the mistake of renting Waverunners for an hour. Wouldn't let me drive, cranked at 35 mph most of that hour trying to throw me off the back while squealing like a stuck pig....another hobby, great.
What an awesome thread! Motoman3 - my heart goes out to you, sorry for your loss. Memories are something to be cherished. Here's my biker. We just got rid of the KLX for a PW80. She is much more comfortable now.
I had an 8 year old granddaughter that was like that and then a few months later it was, well papa, let's go, and she took right off, on her own. My biggest problem now is getting her to stop and talk to me. She loves it. I know, gear - we're working on it. This is an old picture.
I am not a dad, however my niece used to love it when I would take her out on my dirtbike. I miss being able to ride with her like that, and after reading this thread I can appreciate it for what it is. Good on you dads for being around to have the times you have with them.
+1 I've got get to scanning some of those old photos. Mine's all grown up now. We still talk about days like that - the best days for sure! (see the tag line). I have a bumper crop now...granddaughters!
