Went out this morning at flew five batteries through my Sbach with some onboard video on the third batt. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/qCMAlLZeSBk?list=UUymbkCEyMPHrjoWBEgA7Lpw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Are you using an 808 style camera for these? I've been practicing low and slow knife edge circles in the back yard. When the winds die down I can do pretty well with them now. Just ordered a Crack Pitts Mini and the Crack Lazer (32") Should be here next week!
That's a naked Go Pro Hero 2. Just about enough weight to make it not enjoyable to fly. An 808 or that style would be better. I think I'll be getting another Crack something as my next plane.
A quick and dirty video of me flying the Crack Yak Mini. It looked absolutely calm, but there was a steady breeze blowing right in my face making things a little more difficult....ya..that's what happened. Needed a little more oomph to get out of the last little bit. This plane weighs 4 ounces ready to fly. <iframe src="//www.youtube.com/embed/IY61E7mJEho" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="560"></iframe> And here's what it does in the hands of a pro <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/8GufThqJ3Mc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I don't think that fast anymore to fly like that....hell I can't even miss 50' tall trees.....darn plane grabbing trees...good thing I have a 16yr old kid or that plane would still be stuck. I have been looking at those small cameras, I have had them in my basket several times but never pulled the trigger.
So I put the new motor, a 15t, in the Supershot last night, to replace the original Technigold. This new motor now matches all the latest ESC and radio kit. It was dry outside, but dark, so I ran it up and down the street a bit. WOW! its fast! The steering is better than I expected. Whilst on the bench the wheels dont look as though they turn enough but out side, they are ok. I went to get Mrs Hay Ewe and drive it of down the street, turned around, speed up, right in to the drain! Bummer, she wasn't impressed - buts for another thread...... Ended up with a broken lower front wishbone - that stopped play. Its currently got a 19t sproket but going to get a 15t to slow it down some. will get pics soon! Hay Ewe
If you don't mind a motor for getting to altitude instead of a hi-start look up the StevensAero Helium. Its a kit but very easy to build, rock steady in the air and thermals quite well.
I stuck the GoPro on top of my glider... made some really nice pictures of the sunset... now i am thinking about seriously FPV. Although its a little too expensive for my taste.
1100mm Hurricane with retracts. Seems like a little plane with lots of detail. HK had them on sale for $80 about 3-4 months ago, just got around to building it....you may also be able to see the Ju-52 project in the background....also a real nice looking little plane. Has not seen the light of day and already hanger rash...the paint seems to want to stick to my fingers. I love this next picture....how much would it cost the Chinese to have someone that actually speaks English as a first language to proof read this stuff
Nice warbird FPG! Amazing what $80 buys these days. I have some Robart air retracts that cost more than that back in the 90s!
Put my little helicopter back together yesterday. Need some new batteries, but otherwise it looks like it'll fly again I may get another real soon :huh
That truck is very cool. For the first time in about 20yrs of fucking with toy airplanes I tried to amputate my right ring finger. Just got back from the ER....pics to follow.
I've just posted a Carbon Butterfly indoor R/C plane over in the flea market. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?p=21920307#post21920307 Hope this isn't entirely inappropriate... Alex
Went on a bit of a RC shopping spree. In talking with some people on the FliteTest forum, it was suggested that an Easy Star type plane would make a good step up from my Champ. Talked with the guy at the LHS and after telling him that I wasn't really interested in speed but more flight duration and relaxing, he suggested the Radian Well there she is Still 3 channel so everything feels comfortable still. Wow what a plane! So stable, lands very easy even if it does take a full football field for me to line it up and get it down (pilot not the planes fault) Take off's are still a lil hairy but mainly because I don't have the technique down yet and experimenting with what throttle setting to use. I also experienced first hand radio snobbery. Was talking with some others at the LHS and he asked what radio was going in the PNP version. Tactic TTX650.....Well from his reaction you'd swear I was gonna put a Mustard Gas canister on there. If I used that radio I was going to crash into the first crowd of onlookers, kill them all and burn down any burn down any building within a 20 mile radius. Spektrum vs SLT....who knew *sigh* My second purchase was a 1SQ mini quad TX-R Took it out of the box, charged the battery, had some trouble getting it to bind to my TTX 650 (the aforementioned radio of mass destruction) but finally got it to respond. Placed on the ground, throttle up, blades turn enough for it to get light and then it settles back down. No further response. Lost the bind and couldn't get it to rebind. Several emails to Heli Max and they are sending a new control board. So we will see how that works out. Can't wait to try this lil guy out!
