    Thanks everyone for the replies.

And thanks for the info on that sharp looking 2000 640.

I did everything like a good little boy per Creeper's oil change thread in the index.

This morning I removed 200 ml and she is perfect on the site glass.

Next time around I will just put in 1.7 liters and go from there.

I burped the frame, removed the allen screw, replaced the filters all is good. Must have done it right because I put 250 miles on her today. No problems whatsoever.

Also if anybody has a 41L Touratech Zega lid sitting around, I lost mine today on the hwy somewhere????

Oh yes... that was my turn around point... the road ahead was worse :huh
The D606's are going on this week for regular dirt trails. I was only up there to see how far the road was open... and because I could... and it wanted to go there

Vancouver has had some record cold April and May days this year... last year they were trucking in this white stuff for the winter Olympics as that was one of the mildest winters on record

I have no idea if the picture I uploaded is attached to this message. I have a question about some peculiar behavior of the electric ignition on my LC4.

Are there any higher quality pet cocks out there, or are people just buying new OEM ones? I was told the KTM ones tend to be of cheaper quality.
    Thanks for your help.

Don't believe everything you hear eh. The KTM petcocks are fine. Seals can and will perish on any petcock, and are replaceable.

Some folks with Adventures remove them and blank the opening off, and just use the inner ones on the tank.

Thanks for the reply! Maybe then I'll have to look into replacing the seals then. I've had the tank off and noticed that it still leaks fuel out of the main petcock.

    The fuel pump works fine.
I've open the carb and cleaned it and checked the float level.
it is working very well and I can report that the problem was solved.
    Pictures will be uploaded later.

That's my exact bike! Mine has has around 3,600 miles and a supertrapp exhaust. Bought it in November with 3,300 miles. Just registered it last week. I absolutely love it over the DR-650. Plus I'm a KTM guy anyway. :D

GJ, my petcock has always dribbled a little when unmounted from the tank. :D Last week I had the tank off so I drained it, removed the petcock, disassembled and cleaned it. So far it's dribble free! It was quick, easy and free just the way I like it. :lol3

    ...on my adv.-

beside the usual oil and valve service, new fork oil - and a 400$$ shock rebuild with stiffer spring i added a new "rally fender"- just for the look i like...
