So, I sold my RGB pretty darn quickly. Rolled the money over and got a 4Sevens Mini 123 R5.

So far, I LOVE this thing. Its as tiny as you could ever ask something that takes this battery to be, puts out some nice light, easy to operate, and having a flashlight with 'hidden' modes makes me laugh everytime I play with them. Great light if anyone needs a small tankbag / keychain tool.

my older Fenix has that same method of hidden modes and I friggin hate it except for the fact I never use anything but low and high power so it isn't a hassle. But my older fenix does have a button to turn it on and off though which I like better than the bezel method. I guess this tiny thing is too small for a button!

With a light this size the hidden modes really have no use, IMHO. I think its just a re-use of a control board from one of the bigger models (likely the one you have) and since its there its a 'feature'. This is going to be my standard backpacking light, and will most of the time likely ride around in my tankbag or car, depending on what I'm using at the time.

Its a very nice piece of kit. Its well made and performs as advertised.

Here is the Brinkman I bought at tractor Supply for 29 dollars. Best 29 clams I ever spent on a torch. Rechargeable, big head, provides three settings, High, medium and strobe. And has a neat little recharge base.

The head (reflector) is about 1 1/4in in diameter and provides a nice spot and wide off angle light. It is NOT PLASTIC either! It is aluminum.

I just received a Princeton Tec Remix Pro LED headlamp, the one with three small LEDs and one large LED, powered by a single CR123 battery. All white, not the RGB model. It's so good, I just ordered three more, so I can have one in each vehicle and my backpacks. Love love love the CR123 lights, and this one is light enough and robust enough to serve as full-time accomplice to car work and middle-night camping chores. Switchgear is fine, no problem for me.

Good price from Sierra Trading Post:

Still searching for the "right" one....

I've been looking at some Fenix models on Ebay, had some questions for the seller but they have never responded...
I would like something that is all metal and doesn't weigh alot. up around 700-800 lumen.

Evil, did You ever get Your "impulse" buy from Ebay ?

    It came in yesterday! :clap

    Next to my ZT200.

    [IMG][IMG]

    In my hand.

    [IMG][IMG]

At ~10' the spot is about 8" across.

    [IMG][IMG]

Same distance the flood beam is about 8' across.

    [IMG][IMG]

They claimed about 300 lumens from this LED. Judging by the ocular check and the heat it generated after playing around for about 3 min, I'd say it's probably between 200-300. However, the beam on the wall doesn't seem as bright as that. Maybe 100-150. I suspect it has to do with the focusing lens.

Here's the spot next to direct sunlight.

    [IMG][IMG]

Over all the casting and threads are a bit rough, however it feels solid, has some heft to it, all the various seals seem to be decent quality and the sliding focus ring has a good consistent movement with no rattling.

For the money it seems like a fantastic buy, but we'll see how long it lasts.

BTW one can have a lot of fun with a flashlight and a cat if the torch does strobe......:rofl

Well it lasted a whole week and a half before my gf confiscated it to use as her duty light.

We'll see how long it lasts.

Well, the upside is that it means you can start looking for a nice replacement... :evil
