KTM 640 Adventure owners, sign in please...

I know this is a "check in" thread but I'm "checking out", last week I parted with my trusty 2001 LC4 Adv....

Got around 2800€, 40 000km, I did 31 000 on it.

What can I say...now I'm looking for a exc 450...luckily I have two or three friends that will sell my a 2006 or 2007 Adv in a couple of years so I'll be "checking back in".

Sad to see you leaving the 640 Flock... I'm sure there will be times when you miss the ride...

One thing that seems to be happening is that we have a whole new bunch of 640 owners jumping on board, probably some with the bikes that you guys are selling...

I plan to hang onto mine until a better Adventure bike comes along because for the type of riding I do in the country I live nothing comes close to the 640A...

I just caught up on Fishfund's 08 690 FI problems in Africa. Apparently, the charging circuit voltage regulator was causing voltage spikes that were creating consistent error codes in the ECU and thus "get you home type" (abysmal) performance. Note to selves, a small multimeter in tool box is handy!

Well, no need to say "goodbye's" I'll be around and checking on what you do. It was a pleasure to hang with you guys and thanks for all the help with the wrenching, learned a lot from you all.

A 640 WILL be back in my garage, hopefully the one with twin exhausts, fancy nav tower and all the factory bling....

Oh, I still have a Renazco seat, mint condition, giving it away cheeply, but as I'm across the world the postage could be a problem for you American guys. Just an info.

hi guys i am looking to change my brake and clutch levers to flexible ones
but i cant find any that will fit my 2001 640 adv i have looked at asv and fro levers but they dont do any to fit my bike

First, I don't mean to hijack the thread but as so many of you are interested in the seat I'll post info here, please don't continue to discuss the seat here, from here on all communication about the seat goes via PM's. Thanks and sorry to all the others.

At the time the pics were taken the seat was not cleaned, except for dust (in the pics) seat is in excellent condition.
It is a little lower than stock and may be specially interesting to shorter riders, I'm 191 cm and it suites me fine. It is a bit wider in the riders position as well as in the pillion's position. It is harder than stock what I, personally, like, specially for longer trips. My wife was delighted because of the wider pillion spot. Suede means the pillion is not sliding onto riders back what makes life easier. Suede is comfortable, and the shape of the seat allows the rider to grip it with his knees better than stock when riding in stand up position. Looks bling....

The postage - values are cca, as per Croatian Postal Service website (informative only):

To USA, economy (means slow) = cca 80$
To AUS, economy (also means slow ) = cca 100$ (US dollars!!)

For ex.; To Romania = 52$

Yup, he does an excellent job. I went with vinyl as I use mine for touring etc and I really didn't want to be dealing with soggy suede on long trips. I put in back to back 1000+ km days on this no problem.

If I didn't had the seat re-built by Kahedo few months ago - I'd definitely go on your's one :)
and btw I'm looking on EXC530 right now, but not going to leave my 640 beauty :) just add one more orange beast in my garage :)

i use the two tyre iron wrenches from motion pro in 32 and 27

+1 to this and add this:

and remove the need to carry a 3/8" drive.

This is in my toolkit, and clamps tighter than sh**. Better than the bendy stock tools, but the motion pro tire tools are great as they are two in one. I have this wrench and two skinny little regular Motion pro levers.

Knipex. You can get them online, or your friendly Snap On truck.

I kinda like those, and no teeth so they wont chew the crap out of the nut.
