More of a PITA than anything...when u get done you feel like you been rode hard and put away wet! Kinda like Doc's goats
Did u ride down there? that would be a pretty cool ride going down there. I have never been down to the keys but would love to.
Yup. I ended up hauling in all the way out to Mill Creek because I had the silly idea that once it was tuned I was going to ride it. But it took all the time I had to get it running right. So I just ran it up and down the road for three hours out there. I would have annoyed the shit out of anyone if I'd been in a more populated area, so probably a good thing.
The ugly secret about the Keys is that it's boring as hell unless you drink or fish, and the riding is awful unless you think riding on a clogged, two-lane asphalt road behind drunk/stupid Yankees who don't know how to drive is fun. Sorry to spoil it for you. It is pretty though, once you have a couple beers in your system.
I rode from Tampa to here on back roads. Straight, but seeing gators on the side of the road, tons of birds, and the Key Deer road rats. I've never have come here just for the riding. Ride here, park it and go to places off the path. My brother moores a sail boat here and extended family has homes on Marathon and Islamorada. Like anywhere, if you don't ask a local or hook up with one, any tourist spot (including our Ozarks) sucks. Best part of the Keys for me is food off the beaten path and taking the boat out sailing and/or fishing. Isn't there a chance of snow in NWA this weekend? Scribe, I'll suffer thru. Bro's Bro-laws place here.
