Shit... Just had a set fitted to the Super 10 here in Brisbane before XMAS!

Hope there are plenty of replacement tyres in stock folks!

Replacement stocks are not available ATM, but fit a tube in the front one and you will be OK....Mitas will pay for the tube, and replace the tyre when they become available.

Will just change to a Heidenau front for the time being!

Don't leave it too long, when they go down, they go down quick!

Put a 150/80/18 e09 dakar on my KTM 990 last change and got 4500km on it 50/50 road dirt, with still a good 1000km left but changed as going on a long trip this weekend. Quite impressed, good price, long wear, reasonable grip off road. Will see how the Pirelli rally I just put on holds up but I dare say ill be using an e09 Dakar again at some point, just need tyres for bikes in vic park to stock this size. Ps the front e09 Dakar is a puny skinny thing with no grip in the dirt! Won't buy one of those again ever.

I've just taken a 140 E-09 off the rear of my DR650. I got about 7000 km's out of it.

I've run 6 or 7 rear E-09's on DR650's and R80/R100 GS airheads now and they are my rear tyre of preference, I usually get 6-7000km's out of one.

I have no affiliation or axes to grind.........Sava MC 23 tyres on my 1000cc Vstrom are superior to E09 Dakar, they are cheaper and hookup in the dirt better. I got 5000 km from the rear[140/18"] and its the first tyre I have went back for a second tyre.

hi all...firstly, yes I have done a bit of searching but the list of results I got back are far to much to sift through while sneakily reading at work. and the end of the day is looming and the road is wet.

I've just fitted some E09 Dakars on my 2010 Tenere 660. Standard tyre sizes (from memory 130/80-17 and 90/90-21)

Also note that I've got 30 odd years of riding under the belt and have bikes of the road variety, dirt and in between and ridden with lots of different tyres and conditions.

I'm only maybe 200Kms into the tires and haven't had any confidence on the road with them yet (offroad, gravel only at this stage, i'm in love). Its hard to explain but they feel like they are squirming and don't hold a straight line. After cornering with the intial tip in being very quick but getting used to that it seems to take a bit to find a straight line after cornering. Initially I thought the pressures were wrong so I went with a road style pressure of 30psi front and 34psi rear (from being fitted they seemed very low at around 18-22psi from memory). This felt worse. dropped back down to 28psi front and back and maybe a bit better but still strange feeling. Am I running too high still? what does everyone recommend?

Also the front edge seems to have worn quite rapidly despite trying to behave on the throttle.

very keen to know your thoughts and ideas before hitting the road to go home tonight.

The front edge tyre wear sounds like pressure to me. On my DR650 I'd run them at ~25-26 psi.

Thanks Eddie. I squirted a bit of air out before I went home last night and it did feel a bit better, but that might have been all in my head. I'll check pressures again when the tyres are cold.

Looks like the front E07 on my R80 G/S is finally worn out after 14900 km.
Rear probably has a bit life yet, but I will get a set.

Previous two sets were Scorpion ATs , both toast around 5000 km, which until now has been slightly worse than average for me, and I cant recall ever getting any more than 7000 km until the E07's

I need a tyre with good wet weather grip and that heats up fast, and performs well in cold conditions.

I've been looking at the E-07, but would the Heindenau K60 m+s be better for me?

I'm on an F650 Dakar.

on my 2nd E-07 now and love them ..... getting 11000km out of them ... very happy bunny

Yhe replacement set of E07s on my G/S were the new more rounded profile with stickier rubber.

Much better grip, turn in and feel on blacktop, without loosing anything on gravel.
Probably more grip on blacktop than the Pirelli Sport Demons on my Funduro, but the Sport Demons are just the wrong tires for the bike , and me.

Like BOm3r it looks like 11,000 km will be it, compared to almost 15,000 with the older ones, but I value the extra grip, and 11,000km is twice the life of anything else I've tried.

The next set on the Funduro will be E07s too.

Let`s hope they have fixed the front tire de-beading problem.

Only use Mitas on the rear .... using a Pirelli Scorpion Rally on the front love them
Put them on for the OCR last year and still using them.

I'm running them front and rear on my R100GS and like the way the front tips in to corners. Around 15,000km on the front and due for replacement soon. Pushing 9000Km on the rear and apart from the usual small cracks, it will be good for possibly 11,000Km.

Planning on keeping one on the rear with maybe a TKC80 or M21 on the front if I need something knobby.
