It does seem odd. I'm thinking that they mean the current GSA, but even if it is the new LC, it appears that any bikes manufactured after the recall was issued would have the update anyway. Mine hasn't gone into build yet, so I'm not worried.:lol3

From what I'd heard a while back ... 2013 applies to two bikes - new WC GS, and current GSA modl of the old style. So the new WC GS will come as 2013. BMW had stopped production of current GS model some time in October 2012.

    Eric ze frog,

When you are in Arizona in March will you be staying primarily in the northern region? Curious as to what your route will be.

The 1150GS Adventure was built for two years after the R1200GS Standard (I refer to them as the Sport) came out. This would likely be the case with the GS versus GS Adv model as well, at least one year overlap. The RT and R versions will likely also be a year behind.

I agree. I don't think he said anything different.

Actually I think it will once more take TWO years to replace the Adventure.
    Plenty of good reasons:

    - No leaks about the Adventure model (this not a reason, this is an indication).

    - Happened before (both reason and indication).

    - They want to promote the normal GS, before they renew interest with an updated Adventure.

    - They give time to people that still want oil-head.

    - They have a tough job to fit this in an Adventure. It's not only the water cooling (they will possibly use completely different radiators, possibly a single bigger), it's also the HUGE new air-box that really presents issues to fitting a huge gas tank.

And since I make predictions, let me already predict what will be the first major update to normal (water) GS:

    - Update to front forks (yeah I believe they will revert to the diameter of the forks of -2012).
    - Minor power boost (130 easily).
    - Color HUD like GT.
(damn I want these already hehehehe)

Keep this to remember 2 years from now. :D

I should have added this to my previous post: :nod

I was only expanding on what he said, not disagreeing with it.

I think this actually fits my prediction. We'll probably start hearing (and first leaks) autumn of 2014 with a release early 2015 (like now with the new GS).

Checking the article though someone has to ask "more agressive look"? Erm? Than the new GS? Bit difficult to imagine. Is the current Adventure "more aggressive" than 2012 "normal" GS? Hardly. I'd say the opposite is true.

That said, I would love something BMW hasn't done yet with the 12GS but have done with 650cc and 800cc. A GS model (maybe a "Dakar" or "Sertao") that DOES NOT have the huge tank (we are not all 150kg+ and find normal GS already fat enough), but DOES have taller suspension and more off-road oriented standard equipment (like the spoke wheels and the metal cases). Now, give me THAT.

The Spanish article looks like old news except for the first page. As far as I know rocker arms are needed for radial valve arrangement. I haven't seen any cutaway details of the head. Has anyone seen drawings or pics of the cylinder head? Could you post said pics if you have them? :ear

Did you see the video with the engine animation? Check above, it was poster twice (me in German, then someone else in English). Maybe it helps.
