On Amazon.com, they have a used tape of "Take it to the Limit". It shows shows Roberts at the Indy Mile on the monster TZ 750 wrecking the Harley wrecking crew:clap .
plus a whole bunch of other good things, like Mike Hailwood at the Isle of man.
    This this worth seeing :thumb
Just thought I'd let everyone know.

    Yep what he said,
They changed the rules after the tz750 dirt tracker. I seem to remember that thing going 140 mph and spinning the rear wheel the whole time:eek1

That we used to have a local yamaha shop Clark's Yamahal, and I think the guy who ran it was ken clark????

The other quote I believe came from Corky Keener after the race:ear ; "as soon I heard it, I knew it was all over".

Damn, that's one beautiful sonofabitch......that's why 2 strokes are BEST.
(For some reason, all of those chromed out Spook-busa's just don't cut the mustard.....).
    There's a fellow in MD that shoehorned a TZ 700 into a titled RD(or R5 350)
chassis a few years back....the engine ,new in crate, was purchased here
    in Indiana for that project.

I got a chance to do a couple of laps on a TZ750, and it was pretty cool! It was definitely light in the front not matter what you did and no matter what gear you were in.

In all reality though, they were never all that powerful, being old school two-strokes. You could maybe get 120hp out of one before the cranks would start to fail. Most of today's diesel 600s make that much power, and they're a lot easier to ride!

I was @ the Indy Mile that day King Kenny rode the (TZ 750)flat tracker passed the ol HD's(2) & won by a wheel. He came around turn 2 after the finish , about 80 mph w/a full lock powerslide ,1 hand on the throttle & the other holdin the checkered flag high ... Backed off the gas a lil & done a 1 handed wheelie down the back stretch as far as I could see....Man that was the KING @ his best on the dirt...Awesome , i'll treasure this story for ever....seeing the King do his thing on the 2 smoker history was made....Ride On.. Long Live The King (Kenny)
