That's would be cool, plus it's good for the economy... starts a whole new obsession and more expensive googling...

For the nasty stuff 1 cylinder is all you need.

I was supposed to sell my Super Enduro when I bought my Husaberg.
But I really could not separate from this wonderfull bike. It is just too much fun.

But driving the two bikes above is always a big risk. A risk for getting dirty as I cannot keep myself away from mud and dirt roads. So I needed something which is no fun at all driving offroad.
Heavy as hell, bad suspension, no breaking power but the sound of 6 cylinders makes me smile all the times.

LOVE THIS THREAD!!! Yes the Maico 490 Mega 2 is a peach. I had a 450 M1 and my buddy had a 490. They are truly beastly motors putting out as much HP as bikes today. My 450 had the crank balanced and it was actually a bit better so we put in the 490 frame.

The key with these B*&## ards was understanding the starting drill and having to stand on the left side sucked monkey balls. The kickstarter pawls would round off and if the bike backfired, it would kill the coil (at least on mine). However they hold a dear place in my heart.

Wouldnt mind owning one now. Course I wouldnt mind one of everything!!!! :clap

Got a fantastic deal - 1750 km, still under warranty - couple of scratches from one BC trail ride. Only damage - bent rear brake lever. I'll get a nice billet replacement.
So far, so good. First back roads ride this Sunday.

What better to keep a KTM company than another KTM...you decide which one is the stable mate though technically the EXC came first. The only sucking here is in fuel and air! :ricky

She may only be a humble Honda Storm, but she certainly does not suck. Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome my son George to the ADV Rider fold. He is 18 this week and now eligible for his Chilean driving licence :clap

I cant wait to get out on the road with him. Looks like the 990 will be taking a well earned rest for a wee while. :rofl

Hopefully we can graduate him onto something a bit bigger in time for the Ushuaia trip next January.

    Happy days :D

Some of you know me and I have ridden with for years. For those that don't.....My name is Dave Heimer, and Im in Boise. Prior to that I was in N. Ca. I have been a sport bike guy for 20 years. Not long after moving to Boise, I decided to try more dual sport and found that I enjoyed it as much if not more than my sport bikes. I started slowly selling off the sport bikes that I found I was no longer riding.......It was quite the little collection. Last year I put up my two last sport bikes, An Aprilia Futura, and a Aprilia Colin Edwards replica to help pay for my newest acquisition a KTM 990 ADV. Sold the Futura and decided to keep the Edwards.
Now due to recent life changes, I was forced to sell the Edwards as well.
Here is a pic taken an hr. before the new owner picked her up. Had to take her out for one last ride around Boise.

My new to me 2006 950 Adv won't be home for a few more weeks. I know moving and changing families can be stressful...... This is the support system that awaits her..... Varying levels of suckage.....
