A Moto-Guzzi Eldorado restoration project is rearing it's head as a possibility again. Problem is, until we relocate I've got nowhere to even keep it, nevermind actually work on it. I'd really like to get this thing and sort it out. As some of you know I had a '72 Eldorado in my distant yoot and I'd love to have another one. What to do, what to do?
Pass on it. I'll deal with the burden for you. I'm not moving anytime soon. That's what friends are for.
Bring it west and I will do you powder coating (if you like your bikes powdered) I had an old Eldarado about 15 years ago but was too poor to restore that and my Laverda so I sold it. Fast forward 14 years and while at a coffee shop on the restored Laverda a guy strikes up a conversation, turns out he bought the goose from the guy I sold it too and was just finishing the restoration. He tells me I was lucky to sell it as a bearing had spun in the motor and someone did a bush job on repairing it, he had to find a new motor and now it doesn't have matching numbers. Still doesn't quench the thirst of wanting another old Guzzi.
Don, thanks. I'll take you up on that. This one's already had the frame powder coated and the bodywork primed. Haven't been to eye-ball it and find out the mechanical and electrical details, but it's well underway. Sean does excellent work, but he's swamped and needs to make room for his paying /2 restoration projects. I'll keep all ya'all posted when I know more. Hopefully soon.

I know where there's one to be had reasonably in BC. It's in my garage. I'll even ride it to Nelson for you if that's where you land.
Appreciate the thought re. the Eldo. We'll have to talk about that. The deal never materialised on the Eldo mentioned above. That's twice now on that particular bike. Just as well. Until we relocate I need another bike project like I need a hole in the head. On a brighter note, took Heather's "recently imported from the US" KLR250 for it's Federal Vehicle Inspection earlier this afternoon. It passed with flying colours.
Nice. That led me to this: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/4zGgD6RiDkA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
No worries. I've owned the thing for 30 years so it's not likely going anywhere soon. I'd just like to see it get ridden a bit more than I seem to be able to muster the ambition for. KLR 250, eh? I was eyeballing one of those here a while ago but it had been, er, modified beyond my personal limits too far to pursue. Good find.
Cool. 2:20-2:40 was filmed on the Forks of the Credit Road, a popular Southern Ontario motorcycle destination. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/_ZncehIh_Kw?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Recently located a front Lester mag wheel for the R90. Still need to find a suitable rear... Nice find. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/nU1Y0BzF_5I?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
