Anybody have a Moto Guzzi V7?

Took this photo at the Cologne bike show in Germany, last month. As a Griso rider I was quite taken with this V7, but not enough ponies I`m afraid. Less than 50 BHP is just not enough for me. Think I`ll wait until they decide to do a 1200 model.

How cool would a lighter weight Tubliss style conversion be with the spoked alloys!

Picked it up on Friday from GP Motorcycles in San Diego. Nice bunch of guys. I didn't get to ride it until Saturday and the ride to work today. It's a beautiful little bike. Number 347. I removed the rear number plates. :)

Get rid of that number on the front. It looks like you're wearing a bad hat.

Kind of like the hat I had to wear on All Saint's Day when my parents made me dress up like Saint Patrick. When I get the money I'll look for a Stucchi Sport Fairing:

I'm trying to decide between the Stone and a Bonneville.

I can't see how you would lose on either one, they are both nice bikes. It's nice to have choices again, isn't it?

i went and looked at a stone. it seemed very "small" it was skinny, short (compared to the bmw r80 i replaced). but, its a damn beautiful bike. i probably would have bought it, but they did not have one they could sell me. Also, the moto guzzi dealer network is spread very thin not a whole bunch of dealers able to support it.

i went with a new bonneville for this reason. there are 6 dealers closer to me than the closest guzzi dealer. it also has 20hp on the guzzi. i think i made a good choice FOR ME. though i like the guzzi shaft drive better than the bonny's chain, and the guzzi is a damn beautiful ride.

Will your new Triumph require six dealers to keep it on the road?

but a 50 mile ride to get an oil filter kinda sucks. whereas the triumph dealer is 4 blocks from work.

They've got this thing called the United States Post Office.

I've been told they can deliver almost anything in just a few days. And straight to your door.

Seriously, MPH and MI and Harper's and others will put parts in the mail same day and they'll be at your doorstep in a few days.

Guzzi has a pretty well developed dealer network, despite not having one on every street corner.

Personally, I usually order my parts from MPH in Houston. They stock just about everything I ever need, and I get my package in 2-days.

Not knocking your choice of the Bonneville. Nice bikes. Just questioning your reasoning. (and giving you a hard time, but all in fun).

my reasoning for buying the bonneville was easy.....

beemer broke, wife said no more bmw, gave me envelope of $, had to buy a bike by tuesday to get to work. moto guzzi dealer wouldnt sell me the stone "demo" and i don't like the racer (im not a "racer"). the dealer not having a classic or stone in stock to sell me made up my mind for me and the new bonneville.

i wish i could have both.

Playing around with the bike a bit. My son 'n law has a graphic art company. They do commercial signs, wrap cars etc. etc. I asked him for a piece of gloss black wrap so I could cover the #7 on the front plate / mini fairing. The stuff is amazing and matches color and gloss perfectly.



Nice thing is that it comes off with no residue.

Asshat comes to mind. That's why I'm still saving for the Stucchi fairing. The other option of getting the light / instrument lowering bracket may be an option for now. Did you remove the fairing Joe?

Yes, I removed the fairing and lowered the gauges. I like the Stucchi fairing, but like the one in the record kit better. So much $$$, though.
