Folks, just a heads up that I will once again be offline for a few days, starting sometime tomorrow. Jim at RawHyde has graciously put together a little R&R ride and fun for the staff, to take place in Baja. Basically our annual company party.

If any other questions come up, I will be sure and get answers on the thread as soon as I return. Until then… ROCK ON!

I think I read somewhere that this water cooling AKA BMW "precision cooling" is only 35% (wasn't it 25% oil cooling before?), the rest you need air for so you can't have the engine idle for a prolonged time without overheating/melting.

Hey Shawn, thanks for the awesome report. This is way better than the crap I usually reed in magazines. :thumb
The only question I still have is what or who should I rob to pay for the damn German toy. Till I have that question covered, I will enjoy the hell out off my old GSA.

    Thanks Shawn.

    Yeah there are.

Didn't read about the old lady that wanted to travel 60Km to get a friend from the airport and in the end managed to make (IIRC) 1500Km and pass through 3-4 countries?

    EDIT: There...

Back from Baja... Got a call from BMW, with possibly another opportunity to ride and review the new GS... (!) Super-ultra-top-secret at the moment, still awaiting details & the green light to talk it up. Sweeeeeeet! :D

    Hiya fellow Adventurers,

So, I am finally able to write about my next Adventure on the new BMW R 1200 GS. You will find the thread here:

    http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=865982 (Sweeeeeeeeet!)

My knee-jerk on this round to ask you folks for advice on what to write about this time… I will have a chance to put the new GS through its paces on some home-grown terrain this time, and I want to cover any bases I missed in South Africa. Thoughts?
