It's way too early to order the commercial stuff (Kern River Brewing) BUT we need to let the Home Brewers know what to bring. I've been taking to Conestogaman and HAPPYTRAILS volunteered to bring 5 gallons. I'm leaning on getting KRB Red and IPA and let the home brewers bring the heavier beers. Last year Jeff brought some Rye Beer that went over quite well (the first to run out I believe). Let's have some input! We have had left over Stout the last 2 years. I'd like to accomodate ALL the beer drinkers so SPEAK UP! I REALLY don't want any beer left over, I know you're up to it Gerg
I would love it if someone would brew up a Scotch Ale. :slurp NOT a Scotish Ale, Scotch Ale. They're very, very different.
Aye, Laddy! I like the Scotch Ale too. Sam Adams is the only commercial I've had recently, though. I can research the style. Shouldn't be too difficult... I think we need more suggestions, though. What say ye inmates?
Rogue used to make the best scotch ale I've ever had (helluva kick too) but they stopped making it. I didn't Sam Adams made a scotch ale.
WARPED VIII - The Gerg Resurrection!! Great now I have to bring a Zombie gun. Cause as much as I like you you ain't walked on any water of late. Just saying This will help me with the making of the name tags. If both names are not included it is a good chance that we will make one up for you and we will not be nice. Since when are you and Team Doom nice?
Sounds good to me. I like the KRB ClassV, but am not the least bit opposed to just bringing a couple bottles into camp! As far as the home brewmeisters.. I'm MORE than happy to sample whatever they bring... and pony up a little cash for their efforts.
Yeow. How did I miss this one? In, Like Flint! paypal sent n stuff. only missed one of these. with the winter *so* far (0.18" rain total in the last 40 days?!?!?), maybe Mt Breckenridge will be open this time!
I say, if it says beer somewhere on the label, that's my brand. Jeff, your stuff last year was great! You going down on a thursday?
Aren't those rather sweet? I recall a friend in college who was a fan of MacEwans Scotch Ale. My tastes run more towards dry bitter beers, porters, stouts that aren't too kickbutt strong, ambers, pale ales...
They're not sweet, they have a different flavor. Sort of like if you poured a shot of scotch into a good beer. Usually their alcohol content is pretty high too. They're more of a sipping beer than a chugging beer.
Lagunitas Brewery in Petaluma makes a bunch of 'strong ales' that would fit that profile. if I want a slow sipping beer, I reach for a Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout.
