I find the MLV style vest allows easier access to pockets than the YS. With the MLV you can undo 1 clip at the front and get easy access to jacket pockets underneath

Yes, please do post some pics of your MLV-Y vest with your mesh jacket. That would be really helpful. Thanks!

I recently took delivery of a MLV vest from Allan to wear over my racing kit at the track next season, and will be using it on the road as well. I'm impressed by the quality of construction and it it fits well over both my Joe Rocket Speedmaster 5 suit and my old and faded Aerostich Roadcrafter. On Allan's advice I purchased a Large to go over a size 46 Racing suit. The vest feels strangely lopsided due to the weight of the CO2 assembly, but this sensation disappears as soon as it's on and adjusted properly. Allan is most helpful, and even answered my emails on a Sunday. He truly understands customer service, and I would make another purchase from him any day. I'll definitely report in if I get (who am I kidding... WHEN I get) to field test the vest.

Alan- since you clearly keeping taps on this thread- I've shown the vest to a number of friends and to my surprise the ones who have been most interested in it are mountain bikers. I suspect the pull force required to deploy the vest would be hard to generate falling from a 20 LB bicycle... is there a way to make the keybox easier to set off with less force to allow the vest to be used on a bicycle?

I will check with the manufacturer but I suspect the force needed to pull the key from the keybox is directly related to the spring force needed to pierce the CO2 in the minimum time

Glad you are happy with the vest, I am a biker and am happy to shoot the shit about bikes anytime :rofl

Hey thanks. Your pics really helped. Am wondering about: (1) the color (cos my opinion is that the only color should be ' Black' :-); and (2) I'd what size to get tho (my Rev'It summer jacket is a Medium)? Thanks!

The MLV is a Black color, this version is specifically the High Vis you can see the MLV here MLV Standard vest

I would buy the Medium size in the MLV as it fits Small to XL, the Large fits XL - 3XL

let me know if you have any more questions
