Forty five kilometres after the start of the special stage, Juan Pedrero Garcia, second in the Dakar 2013 on completion of the second stage, is having problems. He has been at a standstill for several minutes, most likely to deal with a technical problem.

Could be, could also be that Wp1 & Wp2 are not actually manned, theyre both in the middle of the dunes.

WPs don't need to be manned, positions should be relayed automatically.

    Good Morning!:clap

Bluebull, do you ever sleep? Thanks for the stage update.

I am gutted for Don. Hit by truck, no navigation in the dark with those dunes, broken bike, and still trying to complete the stage = Awesome Effort.:clap

    GO PYNDON!

    Every year we see this.

And every year, they never do anything about it.

Ferchrissakes, will you ASOles learn for once, and just hire your tracking crew from F5?

Knowledge, passion, and the motivation that the F5irehose gang will tear them a new one if they screw it up. :D

"We run the toughest race of the year. We run the Tour. We know better than just some misguided fans."

Yeah, I can hear them thinking that. But it is the fool that thinks he knows everything. As has been noted by current and past competitors and team members, this bunch knows more about the race than the folks in the biv do. They're wired in, for the simple love of it.

So, use that to your advantage, Etienne. Remember: These are the people that the sponsors are paying to reach, the customers, the end users of their product. Make it work you, instead of frustrating those fans, put them to work.

Yeah, I know, no way in hell they'll do anything about it. But I gotta try, maybe one day the windmill will tilt.
