That`s our weekly riding area. Steep would be when our lower class riders change 2000ft in elevation on the loop!

Ok guys and gals, I am rebuilding a 74 for my nephew and the shocks are seized. Does anyone have a good set of shocks lying around OR can tell me the specs, as in extended and compressed lengths and what rate the springs are.

Brewtus and a few others are out setting our coming event. Be back next week. Luckily I never messed with the shocks. Best thing you can do is gear down both sprockets. The Ty`s make the best power out of all the little bikes.

I am having b&j racing cut me some sprockets now, 12 and 54 is what they recommend. However the shocks are the real test, they are both seized at about 80% compressed and I have not been able to get them freed. I'm just thinking $200 for these might be a bit much.

Seems to me I went to a 10 cs maybe an 11, but they should cost you no more than 40 bucks for the pair. I built the main bike used in this thread because I had A big BOY!
I realize Bob fills in a void with the vintage bikes and his ITSA series has been great! Tried to meet him at the world round. Did not go so well.

He was great to me, he took his time (about 30 minutes) to tell me about most all the bikes he had there. I was pleased.

Just got back a couple of days ago, and ran across this. If you did not catch it earlier in this thread, our shocks are of a mystery origin. They are either off the front of a VW Baja Bug, or rears from a Harley. We cannot determine the manufacturer (sticker painted over). They work great for big-boy buffoonery though.


I personally would avoid the Betors available for them. They blew on their very first ride with us. B&J mentioned something about maybe they were overstressed, but we just don't see it.
