Na she'll be right I'll wrap it in tin foil the plastic will melt bonding to the foil making a composite lite weight exhaust There's no way the bike will burn to the ground And the TIG torch is somewhere between Perth and QLD no where it is suppose to be
This stuff does not melt but it smokes up nice funnley enough i was smoking this before i came up with the idea of using tin foil and talking to my mate charlie , how had seen his mate walter white or Heisenberg what he calls him self We have both been WINNING latley ,
What do you need I think this Is a one time deal. Conditions apply , not aloud to build a better bike then me
No idea really, but I'll take any exhaust bits that may be going in the bin. But, if you think its to much to ask of them fair cop. I have a DL650, so that condition should easily be for-filled.
What's the benefit with piping the exhaust low as pictured above? Do you make more torque with the extra piping or just make it easier to mount accessories with the pipe being out of the way down there?
In fact it should make more torque and change the power curve the pipe is roughly 350mm longer and if I actually stayed awake during math I probly could do some really trick equation to estimate the torque gains but I,m a dumb ass But ,m doing some thing different to EI with my pipes it may pay off it may not , but it will look cool (I hope)
So I've gone and made the rally exhaust after waiting 8 days for the TIG torch to turn up . After a quick 3 hour play burning holes and making a mess only ever using a TIG for a few hours I dove in cut up the header added a bit here and a bit there She's all done need to make a adjustment and cut out 10mm as my foot rests on the pipe .
Still need more practice welding and spend more time setting up being clean purging bla,bla bla , The hard part has been done
I've been toying with the idea of a rally fairing, but then I would have to sell my SM setup. Does that thing give you any real protection from the wind at highways speeds?[/QUOTE] I was curious about this also. What are these Rally Fairings like at speed?
So I order paid for the 690 rally tanks a couple of months ago due to land this week , so getting excited when he phone rings last night And a voice saying " Micah I have some bad news KTM HQ will not release your tanks untill Feb" WHAT ! . Then I thought Dakar , there keeping the tanks in stock for the factory riders , as spares. Dam you über fast factory riders you should have your spare organised Months ago. So the dream bike build is stuck in the garage . I still have the current set up but have posted it in the classifieds I had advertise it before but took it down due to the tax office holding my refund for two months , this is what paid for the Factory tanks and seat . So we're too now , well I'll contact ash at cape town ,see what they have but this makes it more costly with freight . Or I sell the 690 and build the 500 ???
So does that mean they are drawing from "new old stock" or will be manufacturing more? Naw. You're on a roll, Man. Go with it!
