I'd like to see pictures of long ago. I started riding on-off road in the early 70's in the winter months in Arizona. All of our rides were rode from Tucson. My first succestful bike that was most never broke down was a Honda SL125 which I rode all the way and back to San Blas Mexico. The next bike was a XL175 and the bike in these pictures was an XR250. These pictures were took over 30 years ago in the winter of 81 and 82.

San-Rafael Area near the village of Lochiel
At one tme this was an entry into Mexico. The picture of the ranch house was where the movie Tom Horn was filmed. About 10 years before these pictures I was there and met the lady who owned the ranch, even sat under a tree in the yard and had ice tea with her.

    Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge
A journey into the third largest wildlife refuge in the lower 48 states takes plenty of water and desert survival skills. Almost all of Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge is designated wilderness. Seven rugged mountain ranges cast shadows above valleys dotted with sand dunes and lava flows. The 1,000-square-mile refuge shares a 56-mile international border with Sonora, Mexico. This area is South-West of Ajo Az and the trail most all the way to Yuma and can be done with most any bike but maybe smaller than a Goldwing. It's a 2 or 3 day ride and you have to have a permit to ride it. We camped 2 nights and went North to I-8 near Wellton.

Love the pictures of days gone by when we didn't need all the fancy riding gear and all the riding areas weren't closed down. Reminds me of my youth.
