Are 4 results enough to form a pattern?

Probably not, I agree. Although 4 races do represent 21% of the schedule. And Red Bull have been amongst the loudest about wanting the tires changed, which means they're worried. Which mans any pattern of tire usage is worth noting.

I agree with that. It does seem as if that RBR tends to like the harder compounds while Lotus really does well on the softer compounds. I'm really hoping to see Kimi bring it over the next few rounds. Looks like the tire choices will be back in their favor?

Didn't Pirelli say they were going to revise the hard compound for Spain?

Monaco's a lovely setting. The race is historic, in F1 terms. It's fun to watch the cars whipping through the streets.

Yet, at its core, it's an oddball little race. I find I'm always a bit ambivalent about it.

An old Schumacher Ferrari shows up at my local cars and coffee too.
I love looking at the details too.

Too bad they never start them.

Weren't they running that nasty toluene rocket fuel back then? It's probably not something one could easily fill up with nowadays.

I'm pretty sure the Schumacher car doesn't have an engine, certainly not the original Ferrari one anyway.

    McLaren the new Williams?

The lack of foresight at McLaren might harm their future as hopes dwindle for 2013 which combined with the team refusing to switch focus to turbo era.

Williams just doesn't have the money anymore. Their disastrous relationship with BMW made the team a poster child for Spanky's campaign to reduce F1's dependence on manufacturers. Left without a top tier engine before (arguably during) BMW's tenure, Williams slid in competitiveness and I suspect their budgets began to shrink.

With McLaren losing their Vodaphone sponsorship -- and soon to lose their Mercedes engines -- you can see the similarities. Looking for a principal sponsor while struggling on the track is not a good place to be.
