Oh yeah baby! I've got fresh D606s, the Big Gun exhaust and the KLR motor....people can hear you coming, that's for sure. Wear ear plugs for sure!

Vibrations? I look at that as a feature rather than a drawback! :evil

hey juames - I finally got the quiet insert for the BG....does it get installed at the tail end or the front end of the silencer? Also, where does the spark arrester go?

Take read end cap off...quiet insert goes pointing in leave spacer out and then put screen in! Might solve some of the popping issue too!

But it's going to get quieter ....... just saying. Adjust the carb to get rid of the popping.

A big gun get quieter? Even with the spud, I always thought they were the loudest of the bunch.

As Stephanie and I got home from our Parry Sound Shake and Bake Ride, we saw this as we got close to home:

Sure does make you want to go out into a bug infested swamp, when it's +37C...

Last year at this time we went on a ride with the BMA and we had snow, up on Kennelly Mountain and the roads around Calabogie.

I know which I'd prefer, if given a choice. You can dress for cold and wet, but there's only so much you can take off when it's hot.

I know what you mean. I made a run to Montreal today. I couldn't believe that I was doing 120kph and I was still hot! Still... way better than winter!

I'll be buying some lighter gear tomorrow. Time for some real MX stuff. :D

Got the quiet insert installed last night....rode to work this morning and while not "quiet", it is very noticeably "quieter" now....not so much BRRRRAAAAAPPPPPP as BBRRAaaaaaaap. I like it. Also got the barkbusters installed. I am now like juames! Only my KLR is teal blue. :evil Still a bit of popping...now Ted, by adjust the carb do you mean the whole jet/needle kit business or something else?

Dangit, no Kawasaki Green available for the Krylon...I'm thinking Buttercream, Plum or Satin Peekaboo Blue.

Seriously, if I go Black, which I would like, is is better to go flat, satin or glossy?

I don't think you have a choice in the plastic paints if i remeber correctly. I would highly recommend the use of their clear coat. I did 4 coats of paint (it dries in an hour or four) and then I did 4 coats of clear. The longer you wait between coats the better. I learned the paint job will only look as good as the prep work. Fine sanding, clean with rubbing alcohol before painting, etc I didnt sand between coast but some say you should. Good luck, go some crazy color that no klr has ever been :clap Never seen a yellow one before :evil
