From the Orleans County weekly newspaper, this happened about 20 minutes west of where the guy drove his tractor over a bunch of Sheriff's Cruisers, and a couple miles from where I grew up ...
LINK Woman charged with attempted murder in North Troy stabbing Police: 'I hope I killed him,' suspect says ==================================================== A Newport Center woman denied charges of attempted second-degree murder and aggravated domestic assault Friday following a knife attack that left her husband, Sean Ahlquist, injured, the police said. “I hope I killed him,” Jennifer Ahlquist, 40, told Orleans County Sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan MacFarlane as he escorted her out of a trailer in North Troy on Thursday, court records say. Her husband was found motionless inside. MacFarlane said he returned to the trailer and secured the bloody 8-inch steak knife with a 4-inch blade, a court affidavit stated. Sean Ahlquist, 42, needed two stitches to close the stab wound to the right chest and was later released from North Country Hospital. He reported to state police that he and his wife had marital problems for a month, and he told her he wanted to separate, State Trooper Deb Munson said in an affidavit. MacFarlane and the Vermont State Police responded to a trailer rented by Allison Whittemore, 19, of North Troy at about 4:25 p.m. Thursday when she called 911. State Trooper Brian Connor said Jennifer Ahlquist arrived unannounced and uninvited at Whittemore’s home on Vermont 105, assaulted Whittemore and scuffled with Sean Ahlquist before grabbing the knife. “I’m going to kill you. I’m going to kill your little girlfriend,” Whittemore quoted Jennifer Ahlquist as saying, according to court papers. Whittemore hid in the bathroom and heard Sean Ahlquist yell that he had been stabbed and to call 911, Connor said. Whittemore, who turns 20 on Saturday, sustained minor injuries and scratches to the face and neck, police said. The defendant told police she was driving down Vermont 105 planning to visit her grandchildren when she spotted her tan Ford Explorer parked behind a residence, Connor said. She said she knocked several times and eventually entered and found her husband of 26 years on a bed with Whittemore and “snapped,” Connor said. Her husband and Whittemore said they were not in bed when his wife entered, court records state. Judge Howard VanBenthuysen ordered Ahlquist held without bail at the request of the Orleans County State’s Attorney’s Office. Ahlquist also pleaded not guilty Friday to a felony charge of unlawful trespass and a misdemeanor count of simple assault on Whittemore. The attempted-murder charge carries a possible sentence of 20 years to life. The other three charges carry a combined 19 years in prison and $28,000 in fines.
How much of your ride is pavement?Does Vermont require off road sticker or would Ct street plates be OK? I would like more information on trails and skill level needed.
VT doesn't require off road registration. Your street plates are fine. The rides are not officially organized. You need to talk around and find a group to ride with. I road two track with some other small bikes last year (DRZ-400) that I met around the fire. We cross paths with some big bike groups on a few of the many dirt secondary roads in the area. Some groups covered a lot of miles of tar/gravel roads on Saturday. The tar roads lead to gravel roads. The gravel roads lead to jeep trails (lots of houses off the beaten path). The jeep trails lead to atv trails. Lots of elevation changes, but not super technical. The biggest things are the "rain bars". They are diagonal ditches cut across the trail for erosion control. They will wear you out after a few hours.
One little story about fornication and here they come. Must be thinking VT girls are easy. Be careful you don't meet up with the crazy one with the knife.

So I'm reading the Yankee Brew News & notice an ad from the Worthy Burger... S Royalton, isn't that near Sliver Lake? Yup! Anyone know a dirty route to/from camp? 2 track or class 4-6 is good. ps Then I log in & see the ad (again) from Oldlion-thanks man!
Well, I checked my schedule. I will not be making it this year. Y'all have fun. Hopefully Saturday night will be a litle drier than last year.
Hey everybody! The hated KLR of doom will be making an appearance this year after all. Oddly enough it's BECAUSE I'm moving out of Barnard! I'm moving to Grafton, VT to take over the historic Grafton Forge, and that means I need to be in VT for the weekends. (I normally go out of state for a few months in the fall) So, fuel up your Zippos, bring gas! ER, I mean... ShrineClown. Is there camping space? In, Meat, Tent!
You don't actually NEED the tent unless it's raining too hard to stay up all night to feed the fire...
