Planning a ride from Maine to Gaspe in late July--touring clockwise. Two couples, three bikes, not into camping. Are motels readily available on the perimeter highways at that time of year or are reservations suggested? Strongly suggested?

    Thanks,

You might want to look into locations of motels ahead of time. You'll definitely find some in Percé and Gaspé (the town), but they get kind of scarce on the northern coast of the peninsula. Lots of small towns up there with little tourist industry.

Of course, you can easily do the run from, say, Rivière-du-Loup to Percé in a single day, so it might not matter.

Lots of Gaspé pics in my St Lawrence ride report, linked below.

    Mark,

Did we see you at the "Bash?"

Wife and I were there on green and black Bonnies.

    And you...

Well, Duh! Of couse we saw you. You led our ride--though you were usually miles ahead of us. Thanks to you and others for all the effort you put into our weekend. That is a lot of work on you part. We appreciate it. And thanks for the links to your travelogues

    Take care,

Glad you enjoyed it! Truth be told, it's not as much work as it may seem because the Triumph crowd is so easy to deal with. Terrific bunch of people.
