Just got NomadGal's stand today teve!!! THANX for the SUPER quick shipping, she'll be ready for Moab now. Peace, JJ
Received mine last fall, used it last week. very happy. KLR 650 rear tire change, stable, packs to almost nothing, very happy. Great product, thanks!
Let me know if you have any questions Ryel, it's pretty straight forward, once you get the general technique down. Thanks again! Steve ESP llc
Glad to hear it showed up as expected JJ, USPS 2-3 day priority does a really good job! Sounds like you are on an adventure, post link for it if you have one! Here's a pic...
Well that didn't take long. Suffered another flat, but thank god I had my Enduro Stand, and a replacement tube etc. I'd say the Enduro Stand is a "must have." RZ Rob
Wow RZrob! That's a heck of a "thorn" in your tire there! And it looks like a Michelin Desert and they are tough tires! I think you would agree having a Trail Stand along makes dealing with a flat a lot easier and faster than the alternatives. Thanks again!
Went on a trip down the Arkansas way and my friends KTM was kind enough to have it's flat for the trip in a spot with a great view and good seating for "supervising" the repairs. The skidplate wasn't too large and didn't really have a place for the Trail Stand, a small hole made with a drill would do nicely, but we made it work between the frame and the case. You're really not holding up much weight lifting the front wheel of most bikes. But I should emphasize that you always want to place the Trail Stand someplace you are sure it won't slip, which is obvious but just covering all the bases, so to speak
Steve - Got my stand for my new 690 yesterday. Thanks for the extra velcro strips too. Next I'll try and find a good spot to drill a hole for the cradle in my skid plate. The photo of the 690 above offers a pretty good clue.
Thanks for the second order Pantah! Remember you only need a hole a little larger than the diameter of the cradle . A 3/8ths hole would be plenty if you dont want to go too large. Here's where I added a hole in the new skidplate for my TE630, I added one in the same spot on the other side just for appearance purposes. I could have used the Husky gunsight shaped holes but it would have rounded the sharp corners off the top edge, and that just wouldn't be right...
In the woods of Southeastern Oklahoma....you never know when Sasquatch is watching you, plotting to steal your beef jerky...better get your tire fixed fast and get outta there!
Just ordered mine, looks to be the ticket. My new to me vstrom 650 is the first bike Ive owned that doesn't have a center stand, and that has me stumped when even thinking of doing my own maintenance.
Thanks Renegade! It will be on the way today! The Trail Stand works for some light maintenance but I have to admit I use a more substantial stand in my garage when doing maintenance. The Harbor Freight rear swingarm stand is what I use on my Cagiva Gran Canyon, which is bike similar to yours. Your bike is pretty heavy to lift so I don't in general recommend it because I don't want anyone to hurt their back lifting such a heavy bike. I will let you decide if the Trail Stand makes sense for you.
used it twice on my last trip, that thing was MONEY! it worked extremely well (been carrying mine around for 2 years unused) and the little velcro deal for the front brake made it really nice. good product!
A confession: I chickened out and got a centerstand for my fatso DL1000. Also I don't ride and/or oil the chain on my DR enough. Those two combined mean I just got around to trying out the trail stand yesterday. Happy to report it worked great, boosted the tire off the ground, gave it a good spin, and sprayed down the chain. A+.
