Tales From The Bivouac, Dakar 2012

Tomorrow Ned leaves at 4 am. He races all day and then spends the night at a special bivouac (far away from us) where he spends the night (no tent, etc). He gets a small back pack that the organization transports for him. Ned will do his own repairs, etc and will only have what he packs.


Due to rains today and last night where the route crosses the bike route has been altered. They will now take the same route as the cars and trucks (not sure if this is better or worse for Ned).

Ned is here at the bivouac now, his wrist is hurting him but his spirits are still high. Tomorrow and the nexy day are rumored to be a BIG challenge

Thank you sooooo much for helping me understand how this works. Guess I'll need to roll out all the vibes I can for the next two days. Although if anyone can do this, my Ned can . . . our Ned can!

Ned has gone to bed, Tim is working hard. Start time from the bivouac (liasson) is 4:50 am tomorrow morning.

Make sure he doesn't forget to pack his toothbrush and a clean pair chones for tomorrow.
