Sounds great Charlie, you could be selling the place! I've heard the same from several people now. I must go...

Doe's Eat Place originally started down in SE Arkansas, then added a second in LR. Now in several places including Fayetteville. Big steaks, expensive and just OK.

Herman's in Fayetteville used to be THE place. Poor meat supplier now. Almost inedible, tough ribeye even when served rare (like he wanted). Way over-rated.

Most surprising place, for the best medium priced steak? Catfish Hole on Wedington. I don't like their catfish, but their steaks are top notch.

R Chris is a chain, the steak you get may or may not be up to par. Usually very good but there is a flavor an open flame, managed properly, will produce that a that a broiler cannot. No way a R Chris location is on the world top ten list. No way!

It may not. However I have eaten there at least once a year for the last 18 years in four separate locations from Texas to Louisiana and St. Louis to KC and have never been disappointed.

Their cooking methods may be different but it works for me. Which steak house do you recommend?

(havent been there in a while and saw Magoo's post about how horrible meat supplier is. )Herman's by fiesta square has good steak. Been around for a long time. Somehow the best steak I have had if Fayetteville is in my own kitchen! Had filet with portabella mushrooms and onions tonight. :D Too cheep to pay someone else to cook what I can. My daddy was a butcher:) Now sipping on IPA from West Mountain Brewery:1drink

Best I've had was Cool River in Dallas. A lot of people thing Del Frisco's is the best in Dallas but I think they're living on their rep.

I've never ha a bad steak there either. One of the best steak chains out there. Morton's is the best but I doubt they'll ever put one here in NWA.

I had Morton's in Singapore, one of the best I've had.:clap
    Haven't had Ruth Criss.
Doe's Eat Place cooks damn good pieces of meat, on a flatiron grill and ruins it IMO.:puke1
My favorite place in NWA is Texas Land and Cattle in Rogers.:1drink
Outback isn't bad for the price.
My favorite place period is Jamile's in Tulsa. :clap

Only eating good sometimes. I have a pretty limited menu at my house most days. Fixing for 4 kids and 2 adults is expensive!!! Petey is a good dog!:D

I prefer to think it started in Arkansas. I deny ever finding anything good in MS.

I thought the original Doe's was excellent when I ate there pretty often during my field seasons 20-25 years ago. It wasn't a chain then. When they expanded, then became a chain, I think it nose-dived.
