Don't know if anyone else has heard about these deaths, don't know if they where riders or not. This quote off the "ride report" section: http://advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=20284567&postcount=1 " Hi friends, I've been riding around the world almost two and half years. After 54 countries and endless number of crashes I'm mexico and currently tackling Americas. Though I've been a ADV member for a couple of months, I haven't been actively sharing my stories. I'm notoriously lazy when it comes to writing and I don't have the sort of skills a writer should have to make things interesting. Nevertheless, my travels are on the contrary. I love adventure. But now I decided to share my stories a bit by bit with the adventure loving folks out there. If you happen to be in the facebook and would like to see more photos than the ones I publish here, please do get in touch with me. you'll find me under "dylan.s@bluewin.ch". So here's a link to little video clip I made and the background story to my trip to Copper Canyon a couple of days ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHX8YfkEQ4E As a part of around the world motorcycle tour I try to explore countries by getting onto roads less travelled. In Mexico I visited the Copper Canyon. It is deeper and larger than the Grand Canyon of the USA. Here on this video clip you get to see the rough terrain and the harsh travelling conditions of the region. On the day of my trip, I was turned back from the best route to the small historical town of Batopilas because it was closed for road construction works. I had no option but to take one of the two alternative routes. I took the more challenging one. On the same day, there have been four people who were travelling on the other alternative route have gone missing. A few days later I learnt of the tragedy. The missing persons bodies have been found, tortured and killed in order to rob them by the drug mafia and all of the murdered were women! I have seen and experienced Mexico, on personal level, as a country of fabulous charm. But needless to say, some parts of this country is still run by dogs! The link below has more info to the tragedy of the murdered women. http://www.borderlandbeat.com/2012/1...thers-and.html " Haven't heard of anything bad happening in the canyons for awhile now. I wonder if they where locals or tourists. RIP either way
Hadn't gotten that far yet. Just reading the ride report and noticed the deaths in Copper Canyon mentioned.

Oh, you can't read. Sorry, let me explain. Snow in south Arkansas makes me wish I was riding down in Mexico. Warmer climate and sunshine. Just wishing out loud....Sorry for your confusion.
I'll be heading back to Eagle Pass after the 1st. Warmer weather for sure. Then the railroad is talking about Laredo....I'll get the sunscreen back out....
