I guess the term "tight stuff" is relative.
If you are talking about "tight stuff" like here in Southern Appalachia,
then you don't need anywhere near 999cc or 1198cc to go your fastest.
Riding the 990 SM-R here is an exercise in restraint.

    Hey Mike

Great stuff about Jamie, thats just awesome. I'm originally from back East and I have great memories of him from Loudon, Mid-Ohio and Road Atlanta. I have quite a few T's with him on em too! I also remember that Cycle World R1 issue, which was interesting cuz I always wondered what he was up to since he left racing.

Thumbs up to George for trekin all that way to ride with you guys, cant wait to see his pictures.

Does any one know of a good cleaner for Carbon Fiber parts? I noticed some CF parts seem to have a clear coat on them and some don't. The cleared parts are easy to clean of course, but I'm having a hard time with CF parts with no clear on them. Some of the cleaners I've tried have made the parts look oxidized (white blotches, kinda like hard water spots). Now I'm afraid to apply anything.

    Anyone know the trick?

Well he owned a Cajun Restaurant here for a while, and raced cars as well.
But then he got out of the restaurant business and car racing and started building the
racebikes and the Series 1 & 2 JJP Yamaha R1's.
    Series 1 was Black and Grey . . . Series 2 was boiled-crawdad-orange.
He still has one of each there at the shop.
He also built a screamin'ass canary yellow RZ 2 stroke that ended up in some magazine too.
His shop is always full of customers' racebikes.

Jamie James is pictured on the left in the next post.
    His titles include:
    AMA Superbike Champion
    AMA 750 Supersport Champion
    AMA 600 Supersport Champion
    AMA Pro Twins Champion
Suzuki Cup Series 600 &1100 Champion

I drove my pickup truck with the KTM in it for 1500 miles in order to to ride it about 600 miles of twisty roads being led by KTM Mike for 3 days and a ride with Jaimie James, when asked if it was worth it ....ABSOLUTELY!

Sounds like you guys had a blast...

Is it possible to list the goodies you have on your bikes... ? thanks for all the feedback.. I think once my suspension dialed in ordered springs (front & rear) the bike going to be settled... next debating Slipper Clutch or Comfort Seat

    Thanks in Advance

    1. I think my accessories are already listed and mostly pictured on page 1, post 1.
My favorites are the shock preload adjuster and the G2ergo throttle (which you can't see in those pictures)
and the evoluzione clutch slave (pictured).

    2. May I ask what is "unsettled" about your suspension, Karna?

I had the bike setup for my wieght/sag problem is the springs max weight 200 pounds per manual I weigh with gear 230 pounds. Even after the bike was dialed in, testing it high and low speed corners I notice the bike wallows back and forth.
I was told to get the bike resprung for my weight. I also have shock preload adjuster, waiting to install it once I get the springs from WP.

What's the benefit of G2ergo throttle ? Would make difference stock exhaust?

    You can call Sam at G2ergo 815 718 5860.
Order a "tamer with K400 cam"
    Very easy to install.
Works great, especially on fuel injected bikes.
    I use a K400 on 990 AND 690.
(I haven't tried the "4ktm cam" because it sounds like a lot more work to install, but with no benefit over the K400).

Interestingly, after I began using G2ergo cammed throttles, I mentioned them to Jamie.
He didn't know that any company was making them, but he said that he used to have cammed throttles made for some of the bikes he raced back in the 1980's and 1990's:thumb.
