Fun! Same here. I've had severe skin cracking on left thumb and forefinger preventing me from playing. Finally getting better and I can play if I take it easy.
Bad T-storms here in MO lately....freaked the dog out...runs behind bed, knocks guitar and stand over in the middle of the night....BANG. Now I get fret buzz everywhere....could not see a crack....guess I will need to take it somewhere to have it looked at.
best thing I ever did for my guitars (besides letting someone else play them) was to hang them on the wall.
I love having them out....for a while I stored them in the cases, but found if they are put up I never played them. We are working on our basement....I have plans to do just that.
I have a dozen Hercules hangers in the jam room. It makes it easier to change them out and I dont have to worry about them falling over. I keep some of the exotic acoustics in thier cases with a humidity insert because of our dry winters.
I keep a couple of guitars on stands next to my TV. During commercials I pick them up an go through some licks. Not if I'm really practicing / learning something new, though!
I find that if they are stored in cases, under a bed, couch, etc, then I never play them. If they are on a stand or hanging on the wall, they get played a lot more. I use wall hangers....although I currently have 4 guitars, and only 2 wall hangers!
This reminds me of an old joke. How do you know when a drummer is knocking at your door? The knocking speeds up.
Our drummer used to slow down a little with every sip of beer. We cut him off the beer so he picked up whiskey.
Any one play a 6 string banjo? looks interesting. Check out this guy......... http://youtu.be/F89Gr_OyTwo
