Yeah, Id prefer mine didnt have one.
Its a right b*&^d changing a tyre without one though... (unless youre lucky enough to find something to prop the bike up on... and it doesnt fall off)

no it is eight pounds....but I like to exaggerate...I have done it a million times....

You never feel the weight of the centerstand, it is so lowly placed its like its not there.

The truth of the matter is that, for me, 8lbs one way or the other will make no difference to my ability to ride this beast! And on a personal note, I could probably do with losing 8lbs off my stomach anyway

somebody, maybe in this thread said that SAS removal creates a hesitation off the idle. Well, I hadn't have it removed, but I had blocked the SAS tube exiting the airbox. I removed the blockage and I can confirm that the bikes is smoother off the idle. From now on, I am keeping SAS alive.

ps I have akras with inserts, 3rd clip and 2turns out on the fuel screws.

My SAS is removed, Akra's, stock jets. Needle Clip in 3rd from top & it RUNS GREAT
& Much Much Better at every RPM

My SE....runs like a top...right until you ride it in the whoops....then it loads up and sputters...

anyone ever get this issue resolved...

Easy peasy, either a fuel pressure regulator or a fuel pump that doesn't drain the engine as soon as it gets the chance(we've used the Mikuni DF53-136).

Have you checked the float levels? I had that problem on my Adventure a few years ago and found that the rear carb float level was set a bit too low. Also, which fuel pump are you using?

Fuel pressure builds up too high on the SE, if you're running in low gears (1st, 2nd) and not being able to gas it a lot for a while.

Fuel pressure regulator is the final answer. You'll want to aim at 0.08bar pressure in the fuel line with the regulator in place. Either that, or gas it more on the low gears

OR, use the #40177 1-2.0 psi / #40252 1-1.5 psi pump

The 40171 is TOO much pressure at 2.0 - 3.5 psi

Too much Fuel Pressure puts TOO MUCH Fuel into the fuel bowls causing the
bike to Flood and / or run rich.

The needle and seats on the bowl floats, will NOT shut the fuel OFF when the pressure is too high.

I think this is right . . . . . Guys chime in.

I THINK gravity flow is fine, cause many people have stated 'the bike ran fine with a FULL tank of fuel
when the pump goes out'

Mine didn't run fine with a full Safari tank.

I haven't checked the others yet but I know the 40171 has a shutoff valve so the bike won't keep letting fuel in and hydro lock when parked overnight DAMHIK :eek1
